What are the best Jobs in IT?

It isn’t surprising that the IT is one of the most lucrative fields in today’s world, seeing how we now depend on technology more than we ever did before. In 2017 nearly everyone has a computer/tablet and a smartphone with an access to the internet (or several of them). Moreover, according to the 2011 UN resolution, the internet is now a basic human right. Because of this, and without further ado, here are few IT jobs that might be worth your consideration.

Computer Systems Analyst

In the hyper-connected world in which we live, it is no longer enough to be good at just one trade. In order to really make a splash, you need to be proficient in at least several of them. For instance, being a computer systems analyst requires you to be both IT technician and a businessman. By leveraging these skills accordingly, it is a job of computer systems analyst to help devise better client-friendlier computer platforms.

Like many other jobs, being a computer system analyst requires you to be able to think critically and outside-of-the-box and show a no small amount of creativity. The number of jobs available is quite vast and seeing how median salary is somewhere about $86,000, this particular job is definitely something you should think about. Furthermore, the unemployment rate is at about 2.4 percent, which makes your prospects of not finding work in this field quite improbable.

Software Developer

Speaking about creativity and outside-of-the-box thinking, there is probably no profession out there in which you need it more than in the field of software development. Your main responsibility would be to design apps for various devices. Needless to say, having a creative idea is something that could happen to anyone, but with the lack of technical expertise to bring it to life, it usually stays and idea forever.

Regardless, no matter how interesting this occupation may sound, it isn’t all milk and honey. You see, you won’t spend every single hour making a million-dollar app. You are as likely to spend your days looking for bugs or even research the competition. Still, there is never a dull moment. As for the median salary, it is estimated somewhere at around $98,000 and with little over 2 percent unemployment rate, things are currently looking good for this industry.

Database Administrator

Another thing that everyone knows about the world of the early 21st century is that instead of in bytes and kilobytes, the size of data is currently being measured in gigabytes, terabytes and petabytes. Naturally, never before were there so many devices collecting it at the same time and no matter how great and automated all of this may seem, it still needs some human supervision. This is where database administrators come in.

It is a job of a database administrator to adjust a database according to the need of the organization or company behind it and make sure it operates efficiently. They are also in charge of all the testing, updating and modifications that are being made on these databases. Keep in mind that this is an arduous job, but it also comes with a pay and work hours that more than make up for it. The median salary is somewhere about $82,000 and the unemployment rate in this field is still under 1 percent.

In Conclusion

Opting for any of these occupations could be considered as a lucrative job opportunity, but keep in mind that there are other jobs worth mentioning that sadly couldn’t make this list. These honorable mentions are computer network architect, information security analyst and of course computer systems administrator. All of these jobs, however, require not only specialized training but also a great deal of talent and experience, which makes them off limits to most people out there. Still, for those few who do qualify for any of them, the sky is the limit.
