Color Schemes for the Newborn Boy’s Room

A newborn baby boy is on his way to his new home! Congratulations. However, you have probably seen so much blue over the course of a few months that you might be getting somewhat tired of it. At this point, some would either love it or need a break from it. Now it is time to paint the boy’s room and you are stuck with baby blue embedded into your mind. Perhaps there are some other themes to explore. Themes that inspire creativity and youth that your child will grow to love. Here are some of those themes guaranteed to spark your imagination.

The use of navy

Taking a different angle at blue might be a great way to reinvoke your passion for it. As yellow may seem to be more of a gender-neutral color, the navy blue will be perfect to add that manliness your boy can feel macho in. Place some navy-blue accents throughout the room while painting only one of the walls the same color. Now compliment it with yellow borders and accessories. Make white your base color, and there you have it. A room with some sunny prep in it.

If you want more of a modern feel, switch the yellow with green instead. Add grey accents and you will have a nice contemporary space. Or, cut out the middleman. Have only shades of blue and grey used in the bedroom. Your base color can remain white. This will really add a delightful chic look to the bedroom while maintaining masculinity.

Orange and teal

This theme is guaranteed to add depth and surprise to the room. The abstract theme of orange and teal will breathe life into your baby boy’s vision. Some might say that this would be their desired first sight if they just got a fresh pair of eyes. Hopefully your baby will thank you when you get older.

Rustic

Nothing says “boy” more than wood and rust. A theme like this doesn’t need much color. Just mostly grey walls and white and red or brown accents. This can be delightful for those who want to relax and rest. Get a gorgeous wooden crib, some awesome rustic pieces to put on the wall, and there you have it. A soon-to-be lumberjack.

Animals

It doesn’t always have to be solid colors. Try painting some animals or dinosaurs in a jungle on the wall. Bring them life with some color and get some stuffed animal counterparts. Not only is this fun, but this can be a great way for your child to learn animals as they grow up. Speaking of learning, you can put an animal up for every letter of the alphabet. Remember, a newborn’s mind is like a sponge!

Toys, toys, and toys

Reminiscent to the last theme, a toy theme would go well. Paint some fun, vibrant colors on the wall. Have a train run along the top of the bedroom for some background noise. Make it fun with a blue red and yellow color scheme. This one can seem somewhat over the top, but it does inspire creativity and fun.

No matter what theme you choose for your new baby boy, just remember to add a little library. When the sun starts to set, and you tuck your little one in, you can grab a book and softly read to your child. This is by far, the best addition to any theme.
