Finally, Samsung joined the 5G party with a big move.
Samsung unveiled a 5G modem that meets all the latest standards and can hit 6Gbps mmWave speeds with the help of Exynos Modem 5100.
The new 5G sub-6GHz and mmWave as well as all existing standards, including 2G GSM/CDMA, 3G WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, HSPA, and 4G LTE.
It will also have radio frequency IC, envelope tracking, and power management IC solutions.
Qualcomm’s X50 modem, which was announced in 2016 and already has numerous companies on board that is planning to use it in their 5G devices.
But during that time 3GPP didn’t finalize the spec for the 5G connection.
