If you’re interested in upgrading your TV viewing experience in time for the big game, there is a more compelling reason than ever to consider a new model: LG is offering steep discounts on its critically acclaimed OLED models, which offer deep blacks and gorgeous high dynamic range (HDR) picture. The deals, which LG claims mark the “lower price ever for an LG OLED TV,” run now through February 2 at LG-authorized retailers across the United States (including Amazon, Best Buy, and B Photo).LG has been showcasing its gorgeous OLED TV technology for years, a tech that uses organic compounds inside each individual pixel of the TV, allowing them to serve as their own backlight. Each of the 8 million pixels on the TV can be turned completely off, which allows for fantastic black levels, and the lack of backlight bleed that viewers typically experience on more traditional LED TVs.The deals come on the B8 TV models in both 55-inch and 65-inch sizes, TVs that originally retailed for $2,300 and $3,400 respectively. Now buyers can snag a 55-inch B8 OLED for just $1,500, and the 65-inch model for just $2,300 — a $1,000 discount on a premium-tier model from one of the giants of TV tech.
It’s been a long time since the iPod was Apple’s most important gadget, and while the iPod Classic, the iPod Nano, and the iPod Shuffle are no longer available, the iPod Touch is still keeping the name alive. And if rumours are true, it seems Apple’s last remaining iPod is in line for at least one more refresh.According to Apple supply chain watchers Macotakara, the current iPod Touch (which was last overhauled in 2015) could see a revamp as Apple looks to funnel more people into things like Apple Music and iTunes in order to help boost revenue from the company’s “Services” division. With a price of £199 for the 32GB model, the current iPod touch could be considered the third least expensive Apple product, behind the £150 Apple TV and the £160 AirPods.Meanwhile, the cheapest iPad is the standard, £319 9.7-inch model that was refreshed last spring to support the Apple Pencil, which suggests there might be a need for a new £200 to £250 device to fill that gap.Macotakara also mentioned that as part of the revamp, Apple is once again considering transitioning future iPhones from using Lightning Connectors to USB-C, a move Apple made last autumn on the new iPad Pros.
The Polk Command Bar turned heads last summer, squeezing Amazon's Alexa assistant into a soundbar that appeared to have an Echo Dot embedded inside it.Today it's getting even closer to the Amazon device family by introducing a new feature that's a first of its kind for soundbars.Polk has today announced that the Command Bar will be getting support for Amazon's multi-room music (MRM) ecosystem, allowing it to work alongside Echo speakers to bring synced audio right across a home where other MRM-enabled devices hang out.Being a third-party soundbar, it's the first of its kind to offer any such functionality. There's lots going on with the Polk Command Bar to make it worth considering over other, less intelligent soundbars. As well as full Alexa integration that lets you ask Alexa the answers to questions, control smart home units, set timers, play music and more, the Polk Command Bar also has a notch built in to house a Fire TV Stick, with a dedicated HDMI port allowing you to talk to Amazon's streaming dongle.
With just over a month before Samsung unveils its new smartphones, more rumors are swirling over its anticipated new top-of-the-line phone, expected to be called the Galaxy "S10X".Several new rumors specific to the Galaxy S10X come from Korean news site ET News. It'll be the first phone in the US to support new 5G networks. The lack of availability of 5G networks across the country isn't apparently stopping Samsung from releasing a smartphone that can actually use the wireless standard, even if most in the US won't be able to connect to a 5G network. One thing to note: a lot of AT customers might see the 5G symbol on a new Galaxy S10X, and for those who live in areas where AT has rolled out 5G, that symbol would be accurate.ET News' sources say the Galaxy S10X will have four cameras on the rear of the phone and two on the front.
The computer mouse is one of the most important accessories ever invented, one that essentially carried in a new wave of electronic interaction when it was first released. But what if we went further, like YouTuber Electronic Grenade, who has done the seemingly impossible: built a mouse that not only can control a computer, but in fact is a fully functional computer on its own, complete with a built-in screen and keyboard (via Motherboard). As Electronic Grenade details, the computer-mouse is a custom-designed 3D-printed mouse case that houses a Raspberry Pi Zero W (of course), along with sensors cannibalized from a separate mouse. But what makes it truly impressive is the 1.5-inch OLED display mounted on the top, along with tiny pop-out Bluetooth keyboard that turns it from “cute Raspberry Pi case” into “actual, fully functional computer.”The finished product is a bit bulkier than a traditional mouse, which is to be expected, but taken as a whole it’s still a pretty impressive endeavor. And despite the hacked-together nature, since it runs off a Raspberry Pi Zero, it should still be able to run whatever you’d normally use the diminutive PC for — even Minecraft (for about 15 seconds, anyway, until it froze).
The new iPad Pro 11 is getting a rare discount for a limited time.B Photo has slashed the price of the popular Apple tablet down to $1,479.99.That's a $70 discount and the best price we've seen for this popular tablet with 1TB of storage. The iPad Pro features an advanced 11-inch Liquid Retina display that goes edge to edge for a more expansive screen. The iPad Pro has also replaced the home button with a 7MP front-facing camera with Face ID so you can securely unlock your tablet, log in to apps, and more with just a glance. The most impressive feature of this particular tablet is the storage capacity that this iPad offers.
Not all of us can afford a genuine, 789-horsepower McLaren Senna -- and after all, each of the 500 copies has already been sold. But for just one 50,000th of the price, you can get a 5-inch-long recreation in the form of the new Lego Speed Champions Senna set.Where the genuine McLaren Senna requires about 300 hours of labor to assemble by hand, the Lego version apparently takes a lot less time, with the set consisting of just 219 pieces. The Senna's shape has been faithfully recreated, with details like its roof snorkel, massive rear wing and striking, aerodynamically optimized nose all produced in plastic bricks. The paint scheme is a menacing Victory Grey with orange accents. There are different wheel designs, in case you want to change up the car's look, and the Senna's clear windshield can be removed.
Just in time for the Super Bowl, LG is offering a huge price drop on their top-rated OLED 4K UHD TV.Starting today through February 2, you can save up to $1,000 on the LG OLED TV available in 55 and 65-inch models.Watching the game on an OLED TV means you'll enjoy incredible picture quality with brilliant colors and crisp images on a stunning display. The a7 Intelligent Processor provides deep blacks and whites and vibrant colors resulting in a life-like viewing experience. The LG OLED TV also features AI Thin IQ which can turn your TV into a smart home hub.Just connect your compatible Amazon Alexa or Google Home devices to the TV and control everything from the LG remote with the command of your voice.
It's beginning to feel a lot like... Black Friday? It is if you're shopping for a new TV, at least, because one of the best deals on one of the best models has returned. For a limited time, Best Buy is once again offering the TCL 6 Series 65-inch Roku 4K TV for $799.99 shipped (plus tax).See it at Best BuyHang on, aren't there 65-inch TVs available for less?Yes, but it's worth spending a little more on this one, because it offers virtually unparalleled bang for the buck -- and in fact it's a CNET Editors' Choice pick.
It’s easy to ignore 2018’s flagships when 2019’s smartphones are arriving soon. That said, Walmart offers 399 reasons to take a second look at the underrated LG G7 ThinQ.The deal saves you $350.99 from the phone’s normal price tag.You can either have the G7 ThinQ shipped to your house or a nearby Walmart store. To recap, the G7 ThinQ features a 6.1-inch IPS display with 3,120 x 1,440 resolution, dual rear 16-megapixel cameras, a front 8MP camera, Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 845 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a 3,000mAh battery. The phone also features a headphone jack with a Hi-Fi Quad DAC, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and Android 8.0 Oreo.
For the three-year anniversary of the launch of the LC coupe, Lexus introduced an LC convertible at this week's 2019 Detroit Auto Show.Better still, Lexus is offering pretty strong hints you'll one day be able to buy the car.The look of the convertible concept closely matches the elegant design of the standard Lexus LC coupe, with its short overhangs, massive grille on the swept-back nose and a broad, flat decklid behind the cabin. It's unclear so far whether the roof is fabric or a folding hardtop, but either way, it appears to stow neatly beneath the car's decklid. The four seats are finished in white leather, while 22-inch wheels give the LC a striking stance on the outside. The rest of the LC convertible's cabin will closely match that of the coupe, with elegantly designed door panels, an asymmetrical dashboard design and a relatively clutter-free center stack with only a few hard buttons and a big infotainment screen.
After what felt like 10,000 teasers and leaks, we finally have the official information about the 2020 Toyota Supra.Fittingly, BMW brought inline six-cylinder know-how to the collaboration, which is what powered all previous Supras. In the new car, a turbocharged 3.0-liter with 335 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque drives the rear wheels through a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. It'll hit 60 miles per hour in 4.1 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. What about a manual gearbox? All Supras also get a torque vectoring rear differential and ride on staggered 19-inch Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (255/35 front, 275/35 rear) wrapped around forged wheels.
Scientists from the University of California, Irvine, NASA’s JPL, and the Netherlands’ Utrecht University have found that Antarctica is losing six times more ice each year today than it did 40 years ago.The researchers say that the accelerating ice loss caused global sea levels to rise over half an inch during that time.Researcher and lead paper author Eric Rignot from UCI says that the team expects multi-meter sea level rise from Antarctica in the coming centuries due to ice melt. For the study, the team of scientists conducted what Rignot says is the longest-ever assessment of remaining Antarctic ice mass. The project went back for four decades and looked at 18 regions encompassing 176 basins and surrounding islands. The team compared snowfall accumulation in interior basins with ice discharge at their grounding lines.
Hyundai has pulled the cover off its new Elantra GT N Line marking the debut of the N Line trim in the US.The N Line trim adds “sporty design elements and refined powertrain/chassis upgrades” to existing Hyundai products. The 2018 Elantra GT N Line replaces the 2018 Elantra GT Sport. While the GT Sport is discontinued, the entry-level Elantra GT carries over for 2019 unchanged.Hyundai is aiming the N Line cars at users wanting sporty design cues and performance-tuned suspension upgrades. The vehicle has blacked out side mirrors with turn signals, a unique grille, N Line badging, N Line 18-inch wheels, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 225/40 R18 summer tires for the manual transmission version.
The three-row SUV was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show this week, promising both design and functionality specifically tailored to the US market. In spending some time with the new Kia in Detroit this week, we discovered there’s more to the Telluride than just another midsize SUV.From the side, there are hints of Bentley Bentayga to the rear three-quarters.The switchgear feels solid and well-made, while the aesthetic could easily be mistaken for that of a car in the premium segment above. An optional 10.25-inch widescreen display sits atop the dash, while the steering wheel’s crisp buttons do nothing to dilute the luxury feel.Easily-dropped seats in the second and third rows, plenty of grab-handles and storage nooks, and a general feel of airiness.
By now, news has already got out about Samsung’s next Unpacked event on Febuary 20th, where we’re expecting to see all three version of the new S10 (S10 Lite, S10, and S10 Plus). But now, a new report from South Korean outlet ETNews suggests that the Samsung S10’s 5G-ready variant will sport some truly far-out hardware.Dubbed that Galaxy S10 X, ETNews says Samsung’s first 5G-phone will officially go on sale in Korea in late March (shortly after the standard S10 models ship earlier that month) for between 1.6 million and 1.8 million won (around £1,100 to £1,250).Now that’s some serious cash to throw around for any phone, but if you take a look at some of the Galaxy S10 X’s alleged specs, that £1,200 price tag might not be completely outlandish.One-upping the rumoured S10+’s rumoured three-rear cameras, the S10 X will supposedly come with four cameras in back along with two on the front, a massive 6.7-inch AMOLED display, 10GB of RAM along with 1TB of storage, and a 5,000 mAh battery. As for its chipset, it seems the S10 X will come with a Exynos 5100 processor in Korea, though if Samsung’s past Galaxy phones are any indication, that Exynos chip will probably be switched out for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 if and when the S10 X comes to the U.S.

Just a couple of weeks after a ticketing error saw Cathay Pacific sell $16,000 first-class seats for less than a tenth of that price, the airline has gone and done it again.Customers searching Cathay Pacific’s website on Sunday for return flights between its Hong Kong hub and Lisbon, Portugal (via another European city) found seats for just $1,512 instead of the usual $11,000.As with the first blunder, the international airline has promised to honor any reservations that were made at the absurdly low price. In a statement reported by local media, a spokesperson for the carrier said that Sunday’s error was down to “an input issue” on its website, adding, “The sale of such fares was stopped immediately. We are looking into the root cause of this incident both internally and externally with our vendors.”The spokesperson added: “For the very small number of customers who have purchased these tickets, we look forward to welcoming you on board to enjoy our premium services.”
The Honor 10 Lite is a pretty solid mid-range smartphone, and you’ll soon be able to get the device if you live in India.Yep, the Huawei sub-brand has brought the phone to the Indian market, and sales start on January 20 via Flipkart and hihonor.in.So what are you getting if you splash out on the handset?Perhaps the most prominent upgrade compared to the Honor 9 Lite is the Kirin 710 chipset (four Cortex-A73 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores), which is a big power boost in theory over the ageing Kirin 659 (eight Cortex-A53 cores) used in the older device.Other noteworthy changes include a 24MP selfie camera (no 13MP+2MP dual selfie setup here), a 3,400mAh battery (up from a 3,000mAh pack), and a 6.21-inch full HD+ LCD screen with a waterdrop notch. The 24MP selfie camera in particular is a massive resolution upgrade, and with single-camera portrait modes making big strides, a secondary selfie camera for depth effects is arguably starting to look redundant.
