Neelakurinji (Strobilanthes kunthianus) or kurinji which emanates in the Western Ghats of south India, blooms once in twelve years with its enthralling purplish blue which makes the view spectacular.

Munnar- Top station, the hill station situated in Idukki district is the prime witness to such a natural phenomenon in Kerala.

View point is experiencing the enchanting association with kurinji in order to illuminate the natural beauty accompanying the hills and tea plantations.

Top station view point hills will soon be bathed in a dreamy shade of blue from October 2018 to December 2018.

As mention earlier kurinji blooms once in twelve years the last bloom was in 2006, the next bloom will be in 2018, which will be followed by a flowering season in 2030 and so on.

Due to the floods and landslides, the main routes in Munnar, Kochi-Dhanushkodi National Highway, Munnar-Nedumkandam route and the Munnar-Udumalpet NH, had been disrupted.
