The Shops where production is done, for examination and acceptance of shafts or holes as well as all cylindrical parts such as screw or bolts which are known as threaded parts are checked with thread gauges which are used for measuring them. There are various factors involved in threading, such as the major and minor diameter of the thread, pitch in the case of metric threads. So for the product to be quickly accepted gauges are used for checking the bolts. In usual cases a GO/NO-GO type of gauge is used to determine the threaded part based mostly on the pitch diameter. If the GO gauge is responded without any force and NO-GO gauge does no thread, then the threaded part is considered to be perfect. But in cases, where it is difficult to measure the diameter of screw or nuts, then along with GO/NO-GO gauges other threaded gauges are also used to check and accept the threaded part which are ring gauges and plug gauges.THREAD TYPES:Thread gauges come in a variety of types and are available in the market abundantly, which is used to match the thread of the product with the gauge some of the available ones are: Leaf gauge, ring gauge, plug gauge, go gauge, no-go gauge.GEOMETRIES:Thread gauges need to be constantly calibrated before they are worn out.
