History of the day of accounting

On November 10, 1494, a book called „Summa de Arithmetica, Geometry, Proportioni et Proportionalita” (Everything about arithmetic, geometry and proportion) was published in Venice. This was the first writing that present in detail the principles of mathematics. In the chapter entitled „Particularis de computis et scripturis” (accounting and other writings) shows a detailed description of the accounting methods used in the local market. The author of the book is the italian mathematician Luca Bartolomeo de Pacioli. Even if accounting methods were used long before that year, the publication's gave the attribute of the father of accounting.

why Luca Pacioli is called the „Father of accounting”

Although Luca Pacioli is often called the Father of accounting, he was not the one who invented the system. What he did is that he described the methods used by merchants in Venice during the Renaissance. His writings include the majority of cycles in accounting that we use in the present. For example, he described the importance of using registers and drew attention to the fact that a person does not have to put his head on the pillow until the flow rate or is not equal to the credit. Luke has shown the importance of the balance by the end of the year and has proposed its implementation in accounting systems local. Probably the best proof that attest to the fact that his work Pacioli has been taken into consideration in the contemporary period is the simple fact that it was printed on November 10, 1494. If we take into account the period, printing of a essay was extremely expensive and received approval only works that were considered worthy of being taken into account.
