Mohit Bansal Chandigarh is an Indian photographer based in Chandigarh. He was born on 12 September, 1988. He is regarded as one of the most acclaimed photographers in India. He gained prominence for his masterpieces at a very early age. Mohit Bansal Chandigarh loves to take nature and wildlife photographs. He is also been regarded as one of the best photographers for all kind of events. His photographic prints are labelled as the best in the world. He has also worked for Mary Ellen Mark in early days of his career. Mohit is best known for his nature photography and he is also a lot into photojournalism.

Early Days
Mohit Bansal Chandigarh was born in a middle class family in Chandigarh. He has a brother and a sister. His father is a government employee and his mother is a teacher. Mohit was very good in school. He always got straight A’s in school. Drawing was his favorite subject. His drawing teacher one day realized that he really enjoys looking at things and then capture them through his painting. Ever since he was a kid, he loved looking at the pictures in his books. He used to draw those photos on his sketchbook. When he was 14, his father gave him a camera. It was not a digital camera but Mohit was very happy to have it. And with the camera, his journey to becoming a professional photographer began.

Schooling
Mohit Bansal Chandigarh did his schooling from St. Xavier’s School. He was very bright as a student. His father totally supported him in all his endeavours. During his school days, he was also bullied by some of the guys at school. There was a time when he told his parents that he wanted to quit school. But his parents helped him through this dark period. He started seeing a therapist who made him mentally strong. During high school, he started publishing his photographs in his school magazine. After completing his secondary education, he left India to get a bachelor degree in Fine Arts. This was the time when his photography improved a lot. He became very skilled and was talk of the town when he came back to India after completing his degree.

After receiving a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Mohit came back to India from Australia in 2012. Now, he was more confident than ever. He worked for some of the greatest photographers in the country to increase his photography knowledge and overall skills. He had always wanted to start something of his own. One of his clients, Mark, who is the founder of Geeks Car Technical Solutions Store, invited him to do his wedding photoshoot. It was a life changing moment in his life. Role in Women Empowerment
Apart from photography, Mohit Bansal Chandigarh has also shown keenest interest in social causes. When he was little, he made his mind to actively participate in women empowerment campaigns. He has also worked with prominent personalities like Ellen Marks. Mohit Bansal often delivers lectures at colleges and institutes telling people about the importance of women empowerment and how women can help a nation grow. He believes in equal rights for both men and women.

He feels that women in India are suppressed. They are not getting equal opportunities as they should be. And women empowerment is not a joke especially in third world countries where the problems like Dowry, Child Marriage still prevail. He is making women aware about their rights and how they should stand up for their rights. Female infanticide is still a major issue in India. He, along with the help of a close friend Kunal Bansal, has been helping women across the whole country making them aware of their rights. He started participating in these campaigns in high school. There was a campaign by his class against eve teasing, and it was led entirely by Mohit Bansal Chandigarh himself. And he has been things like participating in women empowerment, fighting for equal rights for women. There has been a lot of rape cases in India and Mohit has led many movements which has made people think. He believes that if we could all stand united then we can stop such cases. He thinks that his Women Empowerment Project, which aims to provide equal rights for women, can help change the whole scenario. This programme will bring about a change and women, one day, will be able to roam freely in the streets of India even at nights. He feels that his project is successful only when the women and men will share equal rights, when they will participate equally in all the fields.
