The international cycling union and the organizing committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo have announced the routes on which the world’s top cyclists will compete for medals in the men’s and women’s road races.

The men will complete on a 230km route and nearly route is 5000m of elevation gain.
The race will end on the Fuji Speedway the motorsport race track that has hosted Formula 1 Grand Prix events.
Already battling it out for the medals in the final approach the cyclists will have to tackle three difficult ascents including the Mikuni Pass at an altitude of 1,171m and requiring a climb of 6.8km, a 4km section of which has a gradient of 12 percent.
