Can You Connect your New Nintendo Lite to TV?

Nintendo Switch is popular for being versatile. Switch is an amazing console that you can hook up with your TV or undock and use as a handheld. However, many Nintendo Switch owners were not actually connecting their Switch to the TV.

For a while, the company gathered data regarding how people use their Nintendo Switch devices, and a majority of the people claimed that the device is more fun in the handheld mode. Keeping this in mind, Nintendo announced a new lighter model named Nintendo Switch Lite. This device is entirely handheld.

The new model will get released in due time. As this model is lighter, it lacks a few features. The most important feature that is not present in this model is that it cannot output video to televisions. With Nintendo Switch, people had the option of docking and undocking. Hence the device was named Switch.

Since the new Switch cannot really switch, it is priced at half the price of the regular Nintendo Switch. Slated to hit the shelves on 20th September, this model will be available in a trio of hues: Grey, Turquoise, and Yellow. If you wait until November, then you can get the special edition: Pokemon-themed Switch Lite.

The device has a 5.5-inch display screen, with a resolution of 720p. The size of regular Switch is around 6.2 inch, so the lighter version has a slightly smaller screen.

The device has a headphone port, but it does not come with Bluetooth headset support. The layout of buttons is similar to the one in regular Switch devices. But, the new lean Switch does not come with detachable Joy-Con controllers. Moreover, it does not have rumble or IR motion sensors. However, you can hook up your Joy-Com controllers to it.

According to Nintendo, the new model has a somewhat better battery life as it has a robust and power-efficient chip layout. The new device is aimed at game players who are mainly interested in using the device for handheld gaming and also at families who wish to get another Switch. Moreover, those who do not want to spend as much on the regular Nintendo Switch can buy this cheaper option. According to Nintendo, Switch Lite and regular Switch will be complementing each other and co-exist together.

The original Switch will be sold along with Lite. Hence this new model is not a replacement.
