Have You Heard of Fatbergs?

The Cambridge dictionary defines a fatberg as: "a large mass of fat and waste that forms in the sewers (=waste pipes under the ground).
Because of the number of times this phenomenon occurred, notably in the London sewers, over the past few years, a term had to be created and the Museum of London has set up a fatberg exhibit and fatberg livestream (the FatCam) to raise awareness around this issue.

How do fatbergs occur? Fatbergs are basically made up of oily waste, congealed fat and personal hygiene product, notably "flushable" wipes, cotton buds, sanitary products, and condoms. They often occur in the drains linked to our bathroom vanities Perth as well as kitchen pipes. How to prevent them? Read our article on preventing your sewers and drained from being blocked
