Seven England players who need big seasons to qualify for Euro 2020 squad

England looks almost certain to have a place in the tournament after recording 5-0 and 5-1 victories over the Czech Republic and Montenegro in March to launch its qualifying campaign. Sports enthusiasts from around the world can purchase England Euro Cup Tickets online to enjoy its stunning performances.

While the competition for places is fierce as young talents get more minutes from the first team, which players are entering the season about to make or miss the Southgate Cup? Here is an overview of the players who need to get their best form this season, alongside some young hopefuls who could make their mark if they dazzle in 2019-20:

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Oxlade-Chamberlain missed almost the entire 2018-2019 campaign with a knee injury in April 2018. He must now remind everyone what he can do. His setback came at the worst possible time. He looked set to play a leading role at the 2018 World Cup after impressing the Reds midfielder, but that dream was ruined. Oxlade-Chamberlain could solve a massive problem for the Three Lions.

Luke Shaw

Shaw was one of Manchester United's top players last season. That would normally mean something, but given United's poverty in 2018/19, it just means it was not dreadful.

However, he was still struggling to make his way through the English team, finding himself below Ben Chilwell and Danny Rose in the order of precedence.

When Shaw made a big impact in Southampton, he was supposed to become the left-back of England for years to come. It did not work that way.
The feeling is that there is more to come by the age of 24. If he moves to another level this season, it will be difficult for Southgate to continue to ignore it.

Dele Alli

When Alli first came on the scene, he was one of the most exciting talents this country has known for a long time. A striking midfielder who appeared in the surface at the right moment; the world was his oyster.

The 23-year-old needs to return to what has served him well in his first seasons at Tottenham. Another season like the last and Alli could end up watching from outside next summer.

Kieran Trippier

Trippier was arguably the best player in England at the 2018 World Cup. Of course, Harry Kane finished the tournament with the Golden Boot, but in the overall competition, Trippier has always been impressive and he has scored an outstanding free kick in the semi-final against Croatia.

If Simeone can remind the right how to defend, he may return forcibly to England starting next summer.

Phil Foden

Foden is perhaps the best young talent England has today.
The quality that Foden possesses is within the reach of all. The problem is: are we going to see it enough next season?

He played only 13 Premier League matches last season, the majority coming off the bench. He hopes to be able to appear much more regularly in 2019/20 to win in Southgate's plans.

Mason Greenwood

At just 17 years old, Greenwood already has an impact at Old Trafford and had a nice pre-season. The manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer certainly saw something in him.

After struggling throughout last season, United should rely more on youth this year as they hope to return to the top four. This bodes well for Greenwood.

For the moment, he is well behind Kane in the English hierarchy and even has his work cut out to beat his teammate Marcus Rashford. Yet, it seems to be improving rapidly and should have many opportunities to prove itself this year. A first high-level international order may not be too far away.

Rob Holding

Holding saw its season shortened by a serious knee injury. It was not only a devastating blow for the player himself, but also for the Arsenal fans who had to spend the rest of the season watching Shkodran Mustafi play instead.

After watching John Stones make the nightmare of all the nightmares of the defeat of the League of Nations against the Netherlands in June, the country is desperate to find a strong defender before next summer. Holding could claim this place this season.
