US Paralympians to have own hospitality house at Tokyo Olympic 2020

United States Paralympians will have their own base at Tokyo Olympic 2020 after Toyota announced a partnership with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) for a Team USA hospitality house at the Paralympic Games. It is the first time the US will have a hub at a Paralympics for athletes, delegation members, partners, and donors. Paralympic swimmer Jessica Long, winner of a total of 13 Paralympic games gold medals at Athens 2004 Beijing 2008 London 2012 and Rio 2016 is looking forward to a festive environment in Tokyo.

"I am so thrilled that we are going to have a USA House at the Paralympic Games," said long.

"The Games are their own crazy environment and I'm so looking forward to having a place that will be a comforting piece of home in the middle of Tokyo. I can't thank the USOPC and Toyota enough for giving American athletes a place to come together and celebrate the amazing things that are going to happen in Tokyo."

The house will be located at the Tokyo American Club the same venue for the USA House during the Olympic Games.  It will be open by invitation only during the duration of the Games, due to take place between August 25 and September 6, 2020.

Tokyo American Club has been chosen as the venue for USA House during the Olympics 2020 and Paralympic Games it was announced today. The Club located in the Japanese capital since 1928 will serve as the hospitality and organizational headquarters of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) during the Tokyo Olympic 2020.

Scott Blackmun the chief executive of USOC revealed at the official launch today that the Tokyo American Club had approached them four years ago shortly after Tokyo was awarded the Olympic and Paralympic Games. 

Tokyo American Club was established 89 years ago and has been relocated around the capital several times. The present facility in Azabudai in Minato Ward near Tokyo Tower opened in 2011.  The Club currently has 3,700 members from more than 50 countries.
