The Hindu and Buddhist shrine Gosainkund is situated in the north part of capital city Kathmandu in the Langtang National Park. Langtang Gosaikunda Trek offers majestic Himalayan scenery from west to east in all its totality. People believe that the Lake had created by Lord Shiva by his Trishul (trident), when he was suffering intoxication from swallowing poison. After drinking this cool water he was relieved of the toxicity and since then Gosainkunda Lake has been a rewarding place for many Hindus and Buddhists pilgrims. Hindus believe that the image of Mahadev (Shiva) can be seen in the middle surface of the water still now. This large image will remain in the tranquil Lake Shiva is presiding over.  This is Origin spot of Trishuli River. There are 108 lakes in this area but the most popular lakes are Gosainkunda, Saraswati Kunda, and Ganeshkunda; all of which are nearby each other. Every year these sacred places are visited by thousands of Hindu and Buddhist Pilgrims during the full moon of August known as Janai Purnima (Sacred Thread Festival). This Year the festival fall on 28th-July-2019.

As head towards the Gosainkunda Lake, the trail goes through pine, oak, and rhododendron forests with veracities vegetation. This is home to various wildlife, if lucky enough, you might be seeing red panda and boar while walking. The birds chirping their melodies song during dawn and dusk are meanwhile the mountains become colorful just before your eyes. Gosaikunda Trip offers numerous mountains view, including Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Most of the time, you have sight of Langtang Himal range. Tamang is the main inhabitants of this area who physically and culturally resemble Tibetan people. Their culture is still thriving traditionally, it is untouched by modernization. Langtang Hike exposes unique culture, people live hood and spiritual lifestyle of dedicated Buddhist monks who perform their rituals in the monastery which dates back to around 1300 A.D.  Still people are following polyandry marriage system.

Gosaikunda Lake Trek route goes through the traditional Tamang villages and inside the Langtang National Park. Scenic a 117 km drive from capital city Kathmandu to Sano Bharku (1,860m) via Dhunche, we begin trek to Thulo Syabru Gaun. The trail ascends through the hill side ridge with several villages Chandanbari (Sing Gumba), Cholang Pati, Laurebinayak to the Gosainkunda (4460m). This is the same trail that crosses over Laurebinayak Pass (4,609m) to the Helambu Region. The view from Gosainkunda is amazing.  As Gosainkunda is holy serene, this trip known as Pilgrimage trip as well.  About one hour ascending from Gosaikund, you will get Surya Peak (5,145m), from where you have the best scenery with 360-degree view east to west great Himalayan range and landscape.  Explore around Gosainkunda holy lake the trail retrace until Chandanbari then turns right to the Thulo Sybru. Here we drive back from Syabrubesi 132km to Kathmandu.  This is a very popular tea house trek but it is possible to organize as a Camping Trek as well. This trek can do in 7 Days from Dhunche in the shortest time, but you may extend the trip combine with some other side trips.

Langtang Gosainkunda Trekking is highly recommended for those trekkers who wish to see mountain scenery, traditional culture, and religious site. Day 03:Trek Thulo Syabru to Shing Gomba/ Chandanbari (3,330m) -3 to 4 hours

Day 04:Trek Chandanbari to Laurebina Yak (3,920m) -2 to 3 hours

Day 05:Trek Lauberina Yak to Goisakund (4,460m) -2 to 3 hours

Day 06:Hike Surya peak (5,146m) -2 hours & trek Gosainkunda Lake to Chandanbari (3,330m) -4 to 5 hours

Day 07:Trek Chandanbari to Dhunche (1,950m) -6 to 7 hours

Day 08:Drive Dhunche to Kathmandu -5 to 6 hours
