Apple released iOS 13 for iPhone and almost instantly released iOS 13.1 for along with iPadOS specifically for tablets. iOS 13.1 was launched recently after the much-awaited release of iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Apple released iOS 13 to compete against Google’s Android 10 in what seems to be a never-ending battle.

About iOS 13

iOS 13 was launched on September 19 by Apple. It was followed by the release of iOS 13.1 on September 24, and a quick release of iOS 13.1 on September 27. In case you have not yet updated to the latest OS, then do not worry, you do not have to update three times. You can simply install the latest OS; however, you are advised to remove the old apps and make a backup for your data before updating.

New Features for iOS 13 and iPadOS

The latest OS has several fascinating features and here are some of them you should know about.

  1. Prevent Unidentified Callers

The latest OS allows you to block unknown callers from calling you with one tap. If you have enabled the feature, then you will only receive calls from numbers saved in your contacts, Messages or Mail. Every other call will be sent directly to voicemail.

  • Enhanced Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection

You do not have to open the Settings tab and click several times to connect to Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection. Now you can do it directly from the Control Center. You can even see every available device or network.

  • Swipey Keyboard

Android has had this feature for a while; however, Apple has founded facilitated this function to us as well. It is known as QuickPath Typing. It is theoretically faster than traditional typing, and it also offers spelling suggestions along the way.

  • Apps Deletion

Now that 3D touch has been removed entirely from iPhone 11 the way we have to move and delete applications from the home screen has changed.

  • Sign In with Apple would not expose you email

Apple is now offering Sign In with Apple function, which is similar to Facebook’s login option. However, this option is much more secure. Apple assured that signing this way would not reveal your email address. It will be encrypted and is much safer to log in on a third-party application.
