What is long term care? Well, the most basic definition for it is the care you need when you can no longer perform daily tasks such as dressing, toileting, bathing, and eating. Let’s say someone becomes disabled. The question to ask is, “What are his options for long-term care?”. There are four options to choose from, with different things in-between the four, but these are basically the four major ones. The Nightmare of A Conservatorship A Conservatorship is a legal proceeding where a judge appoints a responsible person to care for another adult. Let’s assume the unthinkable happens — You suffer a stroke. You’re rushed to the hospital and the doctor declares you unable and unfit to manage your finances and perform activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, eating).
