You can connect the Roku to the Belkin router mainly through 2 ways i: e, wired and wireless. In wireless, there is no need to connect the devices physically but in wired connection, you need an Ethernet cable with a port on the media player and Belkin router.

To begin with, check the internet connection first, on a computer or on a mobile phone. If there is speed or bandwidth issue with the network, you can contact the internet service provider. They will diagnose and troubleshoot internet issue. The DHCP settings must be enabled on the router.

Steps for configuring the media player using wired connections.

  1. Get the Ethernet cable out from the Belkin packing.
  2. Connect one end of the cable to the Roku media player and other to the Ethernet port of Belkin router.
  3. Connect the Roku player to the power supply and turn on from the source.
  4. From ‘Roku remote’, Select ‘Wired’ connection and type of connection. You will find this option under the ‘Network’ tab. Go through on-screen instructions given on the Roku media player.

This is all about connecting the Roku to the Belkin router using a wired medium.

Now, we are going to discuss steps for connecting Roku to the Belkin router wirelessly.

First of all, fetch the details related to the SSID and password of your network. The Wi-Fi must be turned on. On some networks, SSID is better known by username and password by a passphrase.

  1. Connect the Roku player to the power source and turn it on. Once you turn on the power supply, you will find LED start blinking on the front panel. Wait for the home screen to appear on the LED TV.
  2. Keep on pressing the ‘Next’ button for each prompt message which is being displayed on the screen.
  3. Now select the connection type. Tap ‘wireless’ option from the list of networks. After selecting the network, the Roku will start searching for the available network. This process can speed up by placing the router near to Roku player or vice versa. The lesser the distance higher will be the signal strength and more the distance, lesser will be signal strength.
  4. After the connection gets identified, you need to select the SSID.
  5. Enter the password for the same SSID on your device. If you don’t know the password, you can check the default one from the back of hardware panel of Belkin router or if you have changed the password, then enter the same password again. It must be remembered that the password is always Case-sensitive.
