Yes, Diyas on the Banks of Sarayu River Reflect the Spirit of Ram Rajya, Here is How

The whole set of people who drive vehicles for rent, potters, sellers whose livelihood depends on tourists are the natural beneficiaries of this event.

But some tweets may force you to forget all the facts and be part of a fake outrage on poverty, besides feeding you a wrong perception that Rs 133 crore spent only on lighting diyas, whereas in reality that was the cost allocated for organising the whole 5-day mela.

The Mati Board proposal says that the state government will provide free electricity and land ‘pattas’ to potters to encourage the trade.

The government is preparing to get the potters registered with the labour department so that they can avail the benefits of the associated welfare schemes for labourers.

Navneer Sehgal, senior IAS officer and a member of the Board said that special pottery hubs would also be established in districts like Azamgarh, Gorakhpur, Mirzapur and Khurja in Bulandshahr to further promote potter making.

This move by the Government will help to promote the sale of eco-friendly earthen lamps and provide relief to thousands of potters and sellers whose entire families are involved in its manufacture and trade and give a fillip to the declining trade in earthenware.
