Is Gynecomastia Permanent?
One of the most embarrassing medical conditions that 21st century men have to endure is man boobs or gynecomastia. If you've developed breasts, and are male, your most likely fear is that it would be permanent. gynecomastia surgery cost  hyderabad

If this is your predicament, the simple answer is that it can be, but it doesn't necessarily follow that your man boobs will be permanent. It all depends on the cause. But whatever the cause, there is always the option of surgery as a last result.

Gynecomastia must be differentiated from pseudo-gynecomastia. If you have gynecomastia the cause is hormonal; whereas if you have pseudo-gynecomastia it relates to a weight problem. So, in that case, the man boobs need not be permanent. Just adopt a healthy diet and the combination of regular cardiovascular exercise plus strength training, and in time, you should lose your man boobs.

A common cause of a man developing gynecomastia is medication. They include common medications for hypertension (Calcium channel blockers, ACE inhibitors), some antibiotics (e.g. ketoconazole, metronidazole), anti-ulcer drugs (e.g. rantidine, omeprazole), the diuretic spironolactone, Valium, plus many more. While not medication, gynecomastia is a known to be associated with tea tree and lavender oils in skin care.

Certain medical conditions are known to have gynecomastia as a symptom. Essentially, they come down to conditions that alter the hormonal balance between estrogen and testosterone. For instance, any disorder of the testes, regardless of the cause, can result in gynecomastia. Also, testicular cancer can create this hormonal imbalance that could result in gynecomastia. In addition, other medical conditions can alter this hormonal balance, and result in gynecomastia, most notably hyperthyroidism and chronic renal failure.

In the case of both medications and medical conditions, gynecomastia need not be permanent. In the former case, switching to an alternative medication should see the gynecomastia disappear. And, treatment of the underlying medical condition should cause it to vanish.

The most common time in a man's life to develop gynecomastia is from middle age onwards, along with when a boy goes through puberty. At the time of puberty, it is entirely normal, and usually the problem rights itself within 6 months to 2 years. If it extends beyond this normal range it could be a sign of some other medical condition, so medical advise should be sought.

In older men gynecomastia may develop as their testosterone levels drop. Once again, gynecomastia need not be permanent. Here testosterone supplements may be prescribed, or there is the option of corrective surgery. There is another solution: exercise. Exercise is known to help raise a man's testosterone levels, while at the same time giving a whole range of health benefits. gynecomastia surgery cost  hyderabad
