Chelsea news: Cavani latest, Liverpool want Isco, Giroud eyed by West Ham

The latest transfer news and rumours on Chelsea as Frank Lampard attempts to improve his squad during the January window amid a battle for the Premier League top four. Chelsea has endured a rough run in the Premier League of late and that was highlighted in a 2-2 draw at home to 10-man Arsenal. Football fans around the world can buy online Premier League Tickets to enjoy its stunning performances.

Manchester United's 2-0 defeat at home to Burnley, however, has offered a boost.

The Blues' shaky form has opened the door for their top-four rivals to close the gap but for now, those sides below them are in equally bad form for the most part.

Frank Lampard is still waiting his first signing at Stamford Bridge, having faced a transfer ban in the summer.

A host of names have been linked with a move, particularly in forward areas as Paris Saint-Germain's Edinson Cavani, Lyon's Moussa Dembele and RB Leipzig's Timo Werner have all been touted for a transfer. We also have the latest on the race for Isco and Robin Gosens.

Blues won't chase Zaha, Sancho

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard isn’t interested in signing either Jadon Sancho or Wilfried Zaha this month, according to ‘transfer expert Ian McGarry’.

The Blues are yet to sign anyone during the January transfer window.

Whilst that might change, McGarry isn’t expecting a Zaha or Sancho to walk through the door at Stamford Bridge.

“Lots of talk about Jadon Sancho and Wilfried Zaha, though I’m told that Lampard’s interest in both of those players is very limited because he doesn’t believe they are the right players to come into this squad,” he told the Transfer Window podcast.

Lampard rules out Soumare move

Frank Lampard says he is aware of Boubakary Soumare - but says he will not be signing the midfielder in January.

Barcelona wants Giroud

Barcelona is interested in signing Olivier Giroud from Chelsea.

That’s according to Spanish newspaper Sport, who claims that Barcelona wants the French World Cup winner as a temporary replacement for Luis Suarez.

Suarez is out injured and Giroud is expected to leave Chelsea this month after falling down the pecking order.

Whilst it’s quite a bold claim, it could be a good fit for the 33-year-old, who has been attracting interest from Inter Milan.

Whizzkid wanted

Chelsea is interested in Grasshopper right-back Allan Arigoni but face competition from Barcelona, according to Sport Witness.

Both the Blues and Barcelona are ‘chasing’ the 21-year-old, who has made 19 appearances in all competitions this season.

The report also states that Barca legend José Mari Bakero recently traveled to Switzerland to watch Arigoni in person.

Dortmund make Sancho decision

Borussia Dortmund is already lining up a replacement for Jadon Sancho as Chelsea and Real Madrid continue to plot a move for the England starlet.

Chelsea is ready to pay £120million for the 19-year-old, according to The Sun.

SportBILD claims that Dortmund is resigned to losing Sancho and that they have already begun looking for replacements. Those potential replacements include the likes of Brazilians Everton and Antony.

Pope twist as Chelsea chase keeper

Chelsea is considering making a play for Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope this month.

It has been suggested that Chelsea want Pope to come in as a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga.

But MailOnline state that the Blues actually want to sign Pope so he can provide some competition for Kepa, who has endured a rough spell this season.

Arsenal deal could be bad news for Chelsea

Arsenal is readying a move for Thomas Lemar and that could have a negative impact on Chelsea.

The Atletico Madrid winger has been one of the hot topics during the January transfer window so far.

Diego Simeone has previously said that the 24-year-old does not have a future in Madrid.

Marca has reported that all roads lead to Arsenal.

This particular transfer would be bad news for the Blues as the striker Atletico Madrid is trying to bring in is Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani - also linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
