Premier League: How Manchester United squad could look after a perfect summer transfer window

Manchester United's overhaul began last summer with three major signings and the departure of six senior players.

Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Daniel James arrived, while Romelu Lukaku, Matteo Darmian, Antonio Valencia, Ander Herrera, Alexis Sanchez, and Chris Smalling exited. Football fans from around the world can purchase Premier League Football Tickets online to enjoy its stunning performances.

It was the first time in several years that the club allowed so many established players to depart in a single window.

Marouane Fellaini, Ashley Young, and Marcos Rojo have also been shown the door on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's watch.

There is a clear-out going on at Old Trafford and it was always going to take time to reshape this squad, regardless of the manager's identity. It will continue this summer.

Nemanja Matic's deal also runs out at the end of June but Manchester United has the option to extend it by a further year and he has done enough in 2020 to warrant an extra 12 months.

Phil Jones and Jesse Lingard, though, have had chances enough at Manchester United and should be shifted. Andreas Pereira is worthy of another year in a more peripheral role.

Angel Gomes finds himself in an identical situation to Chong, whereby he is out of contract at the end of the season. Gomes would be a greater loss than Chong and United should try to keep him.

Both players have offers on the table from Manchester United but have been free to negotiate moves with overseas clubs since January 1. Dean Henderson should be good for a third successive loan spell at Sheffield United.

In terms of arrivals, the caliber of player Manchester United will be able to attract will depend largely on whether they make it into next season's Champions League.

Manchester United Targets

Aston Villa's Jack Grealish, Leicester's James Madison, and Donny van de Beek of Ajax are all serious targets. Grealish has the Premier League experience that Van de Beek lacks and he is enjoying a far greater individual campaign than Maddison.

Added to that, Manchester United's current squad lacks leaders and he is the Villans' captain.

Jadon Sancho of Borussia Dortmund would be a statement and suitable signing but one suspects he will be unattainable if qualification for Europe's premier club competition is not achieved.

But we are talking best-case scenario here, and in the best-case scenario, Manchester United are in the Champions League.

That is why Paul Pogba also takes his place in the squad. Manchester United has the power to keep him at the club until 2022 but dressing room sources have told the MEN the Frenchman has informed teammates he wants to leave this summer.

He is Manchester United's best midfielder, though, and the chances of the club finding a superior replacement for him is slim to none.

Odion Ighalo's loan deal does not include an option for Manchester United to buy and it would be premature to think the club will want to come at the end of the season.

Raul Jimenez was linked in January and he, like Grealish, is Premier League-proven. At 28 years old he is an experienced head but still young enough that Manchester United would get several years out of him. Mexico forward has already scored 20 goals for Wolves this season.
