Different types of hydraulic pumps and its uses

Hydraulic pumps are mainly used for two things- to push the liquid inside the inlet line with mechanical action, and to push the liquid into the hydraulic system. These pumps are engineered under close supervision of experts and skilled team to work with a large number of devices, manufacturing equipments and industrial tools etc.

  • Radial piston pump:

These pumps are used for very high pressures, but at very less flow. If the pressure is up to 650 yards, then it is normal. Radial piston pumps are also used in plastic- and powder injection molding and wind energy. The working pressure is up to 350 yards while displacement is 1 liter.

  • Axial piston pump:

A wide range of axial piston pumps is available in the market, which a includes a wide variety of pump design, swash plate, check ball and etc, out of these the most common is the swash plate .

  • Rotary vane pumps:

Rotary vane pumps work on the principle of centrifugal action. This is a positive displacement pump, generally rotary vane pumps has a plenty of radial slots and sliding vanes at the same place.

  • Gear pumps:

Gear pumps are the most popularly used type of pump; it operates silently with high speed and pressure. They are the most preferred type of pumps, since they are cost effective and are used in a wide range of industrial and home applications.

The most important factors to consider while selecting a hydraulic pump for your application are size, transmission, flow levels and pressures.
