randonnée au Ladakh

East of Ladakh, on the Indo-Tibetan border, is the vast Chang-Thang plateau, land of the Changpa nomads. After several passes, you will discover with some dazzle the Tsokar salt lake, and further east in the Rupshu, the immense Tsomoriri lake. Nearby, you will visit Karzok, the main village of Rupshu, at an altitude of 4572m. The temperatures are extreme: very low at night and very high under a scorching sun during the day. The air is so dry that the eternal snows are over 6000m! The fauna has also adapted to the harsh climate: we meet the Kyangs, wild donkeys, who have come to graze near Lake Tsokar, much more rarely snow leopards, but also a multitude of exotic birds. Maximum altitude: 5,580 m
