How long will Microsoft support desktop versions of Office?

The latest version of Microsoft Office for Office is Office 2019. The company released Office 2019 in September 2018, making it a Windows 10 exclusive system. This means it is only compatible with Windows 10 devices and the latest versions of Windows Server.

There are currently four versions of Microsoft Office compatible with Microsoft available in Windows. These are Office 2010, Office 2013, Office 2016 and Office 2019. And you want  Office2019 professional plus cd key then click here.

Microsoft uses the terms standard and extended support to refer to the life cycle of its products. The company uses the same terminology for its Windows operating system.

Standard support begins immediately after the product launch. This typically takes five years and means that a product receives security and non-security updates and that changes to the product's design and functionality can be released.

Extended support begins immediately after the end of primary support. A product no longer receives new features or changes, and updates focus only on resolving security issues and key stability issues.

End of Office support

The following table lists the latest Desktop Office products and the end of general and extended support for each product.

As you can see, support for Office 2010 will end next year. Nine months after the end of Windows 7. 2020 support will be an important year for many users and organizations as support for two main Microsoft products expires.

However, the products will simply no longer work, Microsoft will no longer release security updates for them. Microsoft has made a few exceptions in the past by releasing security updates for products that were no longer officially supported.

Support for the other three office desk products will expire in 2023 or 2025. Support for Windows 8.1 will end in 2023, as will support for Office 2013. This means that Office 2016 and 2019, as well as Windows 10, will remain. And you can get office2016 professional plus cd key  here. the only desktop products unless Microsoft releases a new version of Windows (which would not claim Windows 10 is the latest version).

What will happen after October 2025? We do not know. Microsoft cannot release another desktop version of Office after Office 2019, instead focusing exclusively on the Office 365 subscription service.

Microsoft prefers Office 365 to Office 2019; The company does not want customers to buy Office 2019, but instead subscribes to Office 365. Office 2019 will not change over time. Microsoft will not release new features or changes other than security updates and bug fixes for the desktop version. Office 365, on the other hand, is constantly evolving.

Microsoft shouldn't have made a deliberate decision to ignore Office 2019 development after it was released (with the exception of security and stability updates), but it did. This clearly underlines the direction of the business.

Microsoft recently renamed Office Online to Office.

For Windows, the company launched the Microsoft 365 for Business subscription service in 2017, which combined an Office 365 and Windows 10 license. Microsoft announced in December 2018 that the service would also be available to consumers.

Third-party office suites like LibreOffice or FreeOffice remain available for Windows, and may be the best choice for Windows users and organizations who don't want to enroll in an Office plan.
