  • Plug-in the Netgear Extender to the power source and wait for its boot up.
  • Connect the wireless device to default SSID of the extender which will automatically open the New Extender Setup Page in the default browser.
  • Create a new account to manage the Extender and click NEXT.
  • On the NETGEAR genie welcome screen, select “WIFI RANGE EXTENDER” to enter setup. A setup wizard will scan for the existing wireless networks that are in range.

  • Enter the router’s SSID in Network Name (SSID) box. Select the same security option as the router is using. Enter the password if necessary. Click NEXT and it will initialize the extender to connect with the router’s WiFi network.
  • After the extender initializes a connection with the router, a prompt message will be displayed to enter the SSID and password of the extender WiFi networks. If you wish to set the same security settings and password as your router then leave them unchanged and click NEXT to finalize the setup process.
