Undergoing Lasik surgery Singapore was a critical decision I had to make as it concerns my eyesight which I was apprehensive about. I do not wish to undergo it for cosmetic reasons and risk any complications that might compromise my visual quality.
Pre- LASIK, I had moderate myopia of -3.50 to -4.00 D with mild astigmatism (< 0.75). I wore monthly contact lenses almost every day and had to comply with the laborious maintenance of those lenses. In addition, I dislike the dry feeling it offers and it is true that contact lenses deprived the cornea of oxygen. Therefore, after sorting out my thoughts, I have decided to consult Dr. Natasha Lim with regard to the suitable treatment to correct my vision.

After consulting her, I managed to defeat those fears that have been lurking through my mind and proceeded to do Bilateral WaveFront-Guided iLASIK on the same day!

Of course, topical anesthesia is administered before the procedure to ensure you feel nothing. Throughout the procedure, there was only a slight pressure feeling during the flap creation but other than that, I practically felt nothing as the cold laser burns away my 'degrees'. (except that there were literally barbeque smell as the laser reshaped my corneal tissue).
In reality, the procedure itself is quick, successful, and totally pain-free. Any discomfort I felt afterward was minimal so it really wasn't a concern. It was easier than I had expected and cheers to going spectacle and contact lenses free! In just 30 minutes, I achieved a complete vision transformation! I could easily make my own way home and the results were immediate though my eyes felt swollen right after.
Day 1 Post-LASIK, I can only say I am impressed with the results especially at night. I was back at work and could function my visual activities well, without it affecting my visual quality. Amazingly, I had only experienced slight dryness and achieved clear vision (6/4.5) in just 12 hours post-operatively. Haloes were present but it was tolerable.
It is incredible how I could see the window grille of the building few blocks away at night which I could previously only see it as blurry lights. The results speak for themselves! I was not accustomed to leaving the house without my glasses or contact lenses because I had the same clarity as before. It was amusing how I had to constantly remind myself that I had done LASIK and no longer need them.
After fifteen years of fiddling with glasses and contacts that dried my eyes out, I have completely broke free from it. Having an avocation for swimming and water activities, I do not have to worry about removing my contacts and putting on degree goggles which I used to do. I am pleased that my eyes are no longer dry due to contact lens wear and it was no longer a hindrance to my daily life.
