How to Mirror Android Smartphone to Laptop

Showing your files and presentation to others on a small screen is very annoying; if you have an Android phone and laptop, you can easily show your files from Android phone to laptop screen using the screen mirroring features. In this article, we will show how to mirror Android screens on laptops.

 

 

 

Connecting Laptop with Windows 10

If you are using a Windows 10 laptop, you may have the necessary tool on your device to mirror your phone with your laptop screen. Recent Windows 10 update includes an application that you can use to cast your Android phone via wireless connection on your Laptop.

Here are the steps to follow:

  • Launch the connect application on your Windows 10 laptop.
  • To do, tap on the Windows start menu, select the application from the installed application list, or type “connect” in the taskbar search field.
  • On your Android smartphone, launch the settings option.
  • Locate a connected device and then tap to open it. If your device does not have a connected device menu, then you find Bluetooth or Casting.
  • Select the cast menu and then locate your laptop name and then click on it. If you cannot locate Laptop’s name, you need to pair them with both devices to connect. It is done through your Android mobile Bluetooth menu.
  • If the casting was successful, then your Laptop will appear a warning on your android careen attempting to project. Tap on “OK” to mirror your Android device screen with a laptop screen.
  • When projecting connected with the application, using a tracked or attached mouse will not reflect on your Laptop but your Android phone instead.
  • You can also exit from the connecting application by disabling casting on your Android phone.
  • Alternatively, if your Android mobile and Laptop are paired already, you can swipe down on your mobile and then select the cast button is set on the dropdown menu.

If your device is paired but you cannot mirror your Screen, then you need to check Windows 10 settings.

Here are the steps to follow:

  • On your Laptop, select Windows button that appears on the lower-left corner on the display
  • Select settings.
  • Select “System” in the menu option.
  • Bottom down and select the project on this computer.
  • Remember that the option is labeled some Android and Windows device can project on your PC when you say “OK” is not set to always off.

Make sure your laptop can connect other devices via Miracast for the application to work. There are several methods to check if your laptop supports Miracast.

Here are the steps to follow:

  • Press the Windows + P button on your keyboard to connect to the wireless display. Tap on it and then locate wireless monitors in the vicinity.
  • To check if your Miracast is off, run the directX diagnostic tool by entering “DxDiag” in the windows search field, then tap on “Run.”
  • When the process completes, tap on “Save all Information” to save the resulting text file to the computer, so it is easy to access.
  • Launch the file and find Miracast.
