Real Artificial Intelligence

Since ancient times, the human race has been fascinated by what machines can or cannot do. The quest to create intelligence that can transcend human intelligence is on the rise and is coined by the term artificial intelligence & AI SOLUTIONS.

The term AI was coined by Mr. John McCarthy in 1955, and I am delighted that the computer director and his Shakespeare exhibition have attracted the attention of researchers around the world, as it ranks 4th in the Scopus Scholars Database.

To Know about: The Future of Artificial Intelligence in Manufacturing Industries

It is also fascinating to know that it did not appear in the top 10 searches the year before; Excellent performance. It is associated with a new blockbuster film opening weekend, where it outstrips its decadent glory. In the case of AI, it would be fair to say that this is a sequel story. The series narrative is only behind cancer for obvious reasons. (Most researchers/scientists belong to the medical field and the cure for cancer remains the last undiscovered El Dorado in the field).

To Know About: How Artificial Intelligence Will Change in 2050?

The other 2 words on the list are two newly created words: Blockchain and Big Data. No wonder here if you are following the technology trends, as all 3 are connected to AI in some way or another, capable of creating intelligent and reliable systems in the future.

From driving driverless cars to intelligent chatbots, from robots like Sofia to solving cancer problems, from winning games to providing human-like intelligence, AI is the latest marketing buzzword designed to find its place. But is this current hype true or are we just starting to scratch the surface of intelligence?

To make a difference in hype vs. reality, let’s go over some basic technical details of AI technology.

AI means Artificial Intelligence. Its intelligence system artificially put together to learn and provide an output. Training can be done by contributing data to the AI system. Data can be big data, customer data, structured text, audio, visuals, surrounding details, and so on. Based on the data provided, an AI system detects and outputs the learned and hidden patterns.

For example, if an AI system recommends what food to order, it should know your dietary preferences, what you pre-ordered, where you usually order it, what days you order specific recipes, and many other details to recommend. Recipes that are right for you. The output may be today’s list of the top 5 food orders.

Similarly, if the AI system helps the physician to provide options for treating cancer, the system must have a full patient medical history, understand the entire cancer domain (or related specialization), and periodically learn any new treatments or outcomes in medical journals. Ndi. There may be many more data points and this is a continuous process where the system is trained from feedback and their outcome. We have been hearing that AI is helping to solve cancer cases, which is far away and the systems are starting to hit the surface.

“AI can learn but not think.”

Thinking about how to use the output of an AI system is always left to humans. AI systems and their knowledge will always be boxed into what is learned, but it will never be generalized to thinking outside the domain of training (like humans). It is important to understand this difference. Human intelligence, with a few sets of observations, can very easily learn, think, and apply their practices in different domains.

A simple example is a doctor who treats cancer patients who can advise you for a common cold, but an AI system specially trained on cancer data may not even understand what the common cold is, let alone the treatment options. Building a generalized AI system may or may not happen in the future. The current focus is on building domain-specific intelligence and getting it right.

AI SERVICES is no substitute for human intelligence. Although the mediocre outputs of AI can be automated to bypass the human expert, much of the decision-making and critical intelligence will always require human intelligence.

To Know about: How is AI Transforming Life?

Although AI is predicted to be the next big technology that can change our world, we are far from releasing this vision. You may hear very successful AI marketing strategies, but AI has not yet given its true value. Not only will AI lead to transformation, but the convergence of various technologies and advances in computing power will be closer to its true potential.

To get a realistic view of what the AI system can and should expect in today’s environment in the future, you can refer to my book REAL AI for more details.
