Easiest Method to Install Android 11 Beta 3

Google is launching the final update of the Android 11 Beta, and the best part is that it will not be limited to Google Pixel devices. This update will support a bunch of models from the third-party devices, such as Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Oppo. Since it is the final Beta version, we can expect it to be more stabilized and offering better performance than its predecessors. This version is also going to be very reliable, but one should always remain cautious of the potential threats. Even with this Beta version, users have to risk losing their data, files, and experience other technical issues.

You have three choices from where you can download the Android 11 Beta 3. The easiest method is to sign up for the beta to receive an OTA update. To make it more hassle-free, we’d recommend you to use the OTA images. Google, now, provides the latest Android Flash Tool that gets you the update. Or, you can also choose to download the factory images.

But before you get into the downloading procedure, make sure that you prepare the below-mentioned devices and tools:

  1. A compatible smartphone, such as Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL, Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Oppo Find X2, Find X2 Pro, Poco F2 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, OnePlus8, or OnePlus 8 Pro.
  2. A USB cable
  3. Install the Android SDK with ADB and Fastboot command. Check if it works successfully on your device.

Let’s move onto downloading the files required in this procedure. Go to the Android developer’s website and download the OTA image, depending on the device you are using for installing the Android update. From the same site, you can choose to install the factory tool based on the device you’ll use to install the Android update. But using the latter method will add up a few extra steps that can be skipped in the OTA image method. OTA Image is the easiest and most preferred method for a lot of people, so we’ve listed the steps based on this method only. Please note that you’ll have to attach your smartphone and computer in this procedure. So, keep your devices ready.

On Phone

After installing the OTA Image file successfully, reboot your smartphone into the Recovery Mode, so that the OTA file applies to your device seamlessly. Continue to follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. Switch off your phone.
  2. Press and hold the Power and Volume Down button together.
  3. You’ll find the Bootloader Menu appearing on your screen.
  4. Using the Volume Up and Down buttons, slide to the Recovery Mode.
  5. Use the Power button to select the Recovery Mode.
  6. Once you find an Android robot with an exclamation mark appearing on your screen, press the Power and Volume Up button together for a second.
  7. Then release the Volume button to enter the Recovery Mode.
  8. Use the Volume buttons to scroll down to the list of options. Then, find “Apply Update from ADB” and use the Power button to select this option.
  9. Then you will find a blank screen instructing you to sideload an OTA.

On Computer

After preparing your phone, move on to your computer and make sure that your desktop has ADB tools installed in it. Then continue to follow these steps:

  1. Using a USB cable, establish a connection between your smartphone and computer.
  2. On your Windows desktop, enter Command Prompt. If you’re using a Mac or Linux system, use Terminal.
  3. On Windows, navigate to where you’ve stored the folder and then enter ‘adb sideload.’ On Mac or Linux, enter ‘./adb sideload’.
  4. Regardless of the device you’re using, enter the name of the ‘.zip’ folder and hit the Enter button.
  5. Soon your phone will enter the Recovery Mode again, which means that it’s time to disconnect your devices.
  6. On your phone, use the Volume and Power buttons to select the ‘Reboot Now’ option.

As soon as your smartphone wakes up from reboot, you’ll find the Android 11 Beta 3 installed on your device.
