What is Free Flow Exhaust System?

A free flow exhaust system is a system which is installed in most of the upgraded vehicles which helps in efficiently reducing the combustions which are produced by the car engine as compared to the regular exhaust systems. These exhaust systems also give an updated and sporty look to our vehicle which can be a major source of attraction for the driver.

Purpose:

Free flow exhaust systems are mostly designed for looks and increase power efficiency in our vehicle. It is made from pure stainless steel which gives a sporty look to our car. This free flow exhaust system also helps in controlling the increasing fuel economy. These car performance exhaust system also weighs much less than the original exhaust system which is more suitable for acceleration and efficient to be used in new and improved vehicles.

Exhaust systems are mostly used to increase the efficiency of the power engine installed in the car which automatically helps in accelerating and efficient working of the car. It allows the gas particles to be emitted more easily and efficiently because of the gas pipes installed inside the engine along with the intercooler used between the exhaust and the engine.

The purpose of exhaust backpressure:

Exhaust systems are responsible for the gas disposal from the combustion produced by the car engines but if the backpressure is not supportive then the gas will be returned to the engine cylinders instead of being released through the tailpipes. Backpressure can be very harmful for the car engine because it may lessen the fuel efficiency, reduce the power and may also stall the engine.

Function:

Moderate amount of backpressure is very constructive for the car engine because it eliminates the dirt mixtures of clear air and fuel from the car engine cylinders but on the other hand it can be very harmful if present in excessive amount.

Piping Diameter:

Exhaust flow requires proper piping with suitable diameters which varies according to the vehicle. Proper size of the piping enables an optimal level of exhaust and velocity with minimal backpressure allows the engine to work efficiently and with full potential and power. At the same time if the diameter of the pipes installed is not accurate that will directly affect the working of the car especially overly small piping would reduce the flow and excessively huge piping would decrease the velocity whenever the exhaust is released.

Backpressure causes:

There can be many causes of the impending backpressure such as plugs, obstructions or collapsed materials within the exhaust components which also includes the catalytic convertor and mufflers which will automatically decrease the velocity and exhaust flow of the engine by returning the gases back to the engine cylinders. Backpressure forces the engine to be overheated and to work harder thus decreasing the fuel economy.
