American Dancehall

American Dancehall, initially called American Folk-Dancing, was initially a string of dance recitals performed in the late 1800s and early 1900s in tiny theatres Dancehall. The first American Dancehall series was the yearly Dance Hall Revival at nyc on Labor Day Weekend in 1882, a performance that included a band featuring African-American performers.

American Dancehall evolved into a well-known expert league for African-Americans that included several regional performances. The word"American" was later adopted for its federal dance match, which is now the National League of American Dance Hall of Fame.

American Dancehall continues to grow and thrive. There are now more than fifty regional and national performances happening throughout the nation every year.

African-American Performances include Jazz, Mardi Gras, Blues, Ragtime, Boogie Woogie, Creole, Classical and Contemporary. American dancers include: Martha Washam, Tony Williams, Taffy Atkins, Martha Washam, Kip Russell, Jivika James, Marisa Dillard, Leanne Tancredi,Tiffany Taylor, Ashleigh Ballinger, Nisbet Williams, Leanne Tancredi, Martha Washam, Taffy Atkins, Tony Williams and Tiana Lowe.

African-American Dance is now popular in the West Coast and abroad. Performances are conducted in major cities such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, San Diego, Chicago, San Francisco, Phoenix, Boston, San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, Fort Worth and Jacksonville.

American Dancehall continues to grow and thrive, as it has been an entertaining addition to any celebration. It's an excellent way to get together with friends and family for an evening of dancing to celebrate life, love and civilization. Do not overlook the pleasure!

The National Dance Hall of Fame has been an important part of American history since its inception Soca. This award is awarded to the best dance business.

For those in the know, the National Dance Hall of Fame is one of three halls recognized from the National Association of Black Singers, a nationwide organization. It is the only dance hall of its type in the world. Our hall can also be considered one of the oldest continuously running dance halls of its kind in America.
