The latest smart speaker by Google, Nest Audio, offers impressive sound quality at an attractive price. After a span of four years, since Google released its first smart speaker, has now released its new smart speaker, the Nest Audio.

This speaker has performance somewhere between the Nest Mini and Home Max. It comes at a price of $99.99, which is price less expensive compared to the original Google Home, which came in 2016.

Google Nest Audio

Despite having a lower price, Nest Audio is a well-improved speaker over the Google Home from every angle. Even though it is larger than the original Google Home, it can easily fit in various places of your home. It responds in a faster way to every voice command you give to it, and the most important key factor regarding the Google Nest Audio is that it has a sound quality better than the previous Google Home.

Since the initial launch of the Google Home in 2016, Amazon, in its competition, has released various Echo models and has advanced a lot in terms of audio quality, features and design. The same way Sonos is producing rock-solid smart wireless speakers. Even Ikea has started making the connected speakers now, and they combine the technology of Sonos with their designing abilities and aggressive pricing.

However, Google Nest Audio also has a much-improved audio quality compared to its predecessor. It comes at an attractive price, and you can pair two Nest Audio speakers to create a better audio output. It offers Google Assistant with the help of which you can do a lot of stuff. However, Google Nest Audio has a compact size and has a minimal yet powerful volume and bass. The commands you would be giving to the Google Assistant on the Nest Audio may sometimes not work. Also, the multiroom voice controls are not that much reliable.

But one thing is clear that Google has this time gone for a design which is simple and straightforward. From five different Nest Audio color variants, you can opt for the one that matches your interest.

The Nest Audio is wrapped up with a plastic mesh fabric material which is recyclable and which makes the speakers appear softer in terms of looks. The Nest Audio offers clear, dense and sturdy voice quality even at the highest volume. On the top of the speaker, you get three capacitive touch zones dedicated for volume up, down and play/pause. There are four LED lights on the front center that indicate the volume levels and also when the microphones are muted.

Google has understood that even though the design is an essential factor, when it’s about the speakers, sound quality is given more preference over design. So, this time you can see some significant advancement on the speakers as the Nest Audio sounds much more prominent than its predecessors. The Nest Audio offers a 75mm woofer and a 19mm tweeter, which in combination with each other result in much clearer and more profound clarity of sound even at the higher volumes.

You can play music and other audio podcasts through voice commands; or by casting audio from an application on your handset; or by pairing the Nest Audio directly to your phone via Bluetooth. In case you want to mute the microphones, you get a physical switch on the back of the Nest Audio. This way, you can restrict Google Assistant from picking up your voice.

Final Verdict

All in all, there are hardly any complaints regarding the sound quality of the Nest Audio. It has succeeded in making a great impression due to its sound quality and sober design. We would recommend you to opt for Nest Audio if you are looking for a smart speaker with decent sound quality and Google Assistant support.
