Indian Furniture at it's best

Indian furniture comes under the classification of Asian Furniture. They have a distinct and artistic history. Places such as India, Japan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Mongolia, and Korea are well known for their cultural furniture equipment. You might also find fine vintage indian furniture in singapore with lush finishing.

Animal carvings are the main distinguishing features of Indian Furniture. They either have a symbolic meaning or a story behind the particular carvings. They also contain historical and mythological figure carvings on their furniture to show their religious inclination towards specific deities.

Indian furniture styles have been influenced by many other Asian types, such as the Chinese and Japanese carvings. It also has the influence of Portuguese and British elements to it. Mughal elements were incorporated into Indian Furniture, incredibly distinct to North and West Indian furniture. Artisans used to blend both the cultural styles and patterns to make different and beautiful wood furnishings and window carvings.

The Mughal culture was heavily witnessed in Furniture of Gujarat and Rajasthan and Delhi and UP. Colorful paintings on furniture show the rich tapestry of their history; also, mythological stories are weaved into their designs.

Most of the Furniture was made out of expensive woods, which were available plenty in India. String Beds, Cupboards known as Alamaris, and Swings are some well-recognized Indian Furniture. Before the British Invasion of India, Europeans indulged in Spice Trade in Southern and Eastern parts of India. These influences can be seen in wood carvings and inlay work since the Europeans traveled from their houses from faraway lands to settle for business and ruling purposes. They incorporated many European elements on their furnishing with the help of local artisans and used to import them to Europe and used them for their houses.

By the 18th century, many English influences, like the Chippendale and Sheraton styles of traditional England, were witnessed with both furniture styles' blending. The design aspects were modern and traditional, in the sense that the shape was of simple furniture, but the carvings and the pattern were distinct and unique to the Indian style of furniture.

Nowadays, the Indian furniture style has blended into a simple and eco-friendly manner, emphasizing less artistic but more practical design. Artisans who used to create designer furniture have become almost extinct due to less recognition and modernism taking over.

Many ethnic movements have been stated to give them the recognition and finances they deserve. The government has provided them with many schemes to uplift their profession and, in turn, getting them the maximum profit for their hard work and genius.
