Animal Flow is an amazing program that can be modified for any age and any fitness level. We are providing online personal training for workout exercises that will change your mindset and help to create strong healthy.

 

Early Fitness Career

When I was 17, after practicing many sports such as gymnastics, basketball, & aikido, and getting my black belt in kickboxing, I set up my first kickboxing training school where I trained thousands of students over the years. I later went on to be a National Champion and then to coach a Portuguese National Semi Contact team (Kickboxing) for many years.

I also did a Sports Science degree and then became a high school PE teacher, a job I loved, for 16 years. But after a while, I grew dissatisfied with the way the school system was teaching kids to only think about movement as competition, so I decided to challenge myself and try something new.

 

Personal Training Career

Next, I moved to Australia, where I started my own personal training business. As a more mature personal trainer, I decided to work specifically with people over 40, and that has been my specialisation and my passion. However, I also love to teach the Animal Flow program to younger people! After 8 years in Oz, I spent a year in Thailand and Bali, creating and filming my first online fitness course, The Matrix Foundations. Now, I’m working online with clients all over the world, and providing face to face classes in Lagos, Portugal.

I love helping people to change their mind set, both about exercise and about themselves, and discovering their inner potential, so that they can become truly successful in becoming active for life and enjoying it.

 

What is Animal Flow®?

Animal Flow® is an amazing program, designed to incorporate natural human movements that we have lost over time and that are crucial to keeping our physical and mental health. It is a program that can be modified for any age and any fitness level. I have experience training a very wide range of clients, from people who have never exercised before to elite athletes. Animal Flow is also a spectacular way to support your fitness and abilities in other physical activities, from yoga to golf to dance!

 

Absolutely no equipment necessary. All you need is your body and some open space. Group classes and one-to-one personal training  available. Online or face to face.

WRIST MOBILIZATIONS

Wrist mobilizations are simple yet effective movements used to prepare the hands and wrists for the challenges of Animal Flow. Healthy wrists are so important to the success of both novice and experienced flow-ists, that it’s always our first component.

ACTIVATIONS

Our activations are a way of “waking up” the body and encouraging it to communicate. The AF practice uses two activation positions, Beast and Crab, which are foundational forms in the overall program.

FORM SPECIFIC STRETCHES

FSS are full body stretches that begin in a base animal position and then move through various ranges of motion. The goal of the FSSs is to encourage a combination of flexibility and stability (i.e. mobility) throughout the entire body, building “strength through motion.”

 

TRAVELING FORMS

Traveling forms are our animal locomotion movements. They represent the way we mimic animals to improve the function of the Human Animal. We group these forms into the ABCs of animal movements: Ape, Beast, and Crab, along with their variations.

 

SWITCHES & TRANSITIONS

The S&Ts make up the bulk of the “flow” in the AF practice. These are dynamic movements that can be linked together to form endless combinations, or can stand alone as a powerful exercise or drill. The four base S&T categories are Underswitch, Side Kickthrough, Scorpion and Front Kickthrough.
