There is an annual festival called the Anayoottu Festival which involves feeding the elephants and one of the major festivals of Vadakkunnathan Temple. Various elephants which are placed in the crowd where people feed them and worship. In this festival different devote come from all parts of the country to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva.
