 Thousands of students all over India are aspiring to get admission in the top medical college of the country to bring their dream of pursuing Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) into reality. After 2017, Supreme Court has made it compulsory for the institutions to provide admissions only for the candidates who have cleared the national level entrance examination NEET 2020 ( National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE).

 15% All India Quota seats will be filled in by the Director General of Health Services (DGHS) and all students who have cleared NEET 2020 is eligible to participate in this counseling. The remaining 85 % seats are allotted for the state quota and the respective state medical council will conduct counseling process for filling up these seats. Private institutions and deemed university medical seats will be filled in the state counseling only.

 

CRITERIA FOR MBBS ADMISSION IN INDIA

For seeking mbbs admission into any medical institution the candidate must possess the basic eligibility criteria. They are as follows,

  • Must cleared 12th or equivalent qualification with science background subjects like, physics, chemistry and biology along with English.
  • Must have an aggregate score of 50% in the 12th qualification exam. ( reserved castes 45% marks)
  • Aged between 17 – 25 years at the time of admission process.
  • Must have cleared NEET 2020 with qualifying score.

MBBS ADMISSION PROCESS 2020

MBBS course in India follows the guidelines set by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The admission process is also set by the MCI.

Once the students have qualified with their NEET 2020, they can apply for the mbbs admission process through

  • All India medical counseling for 15% all India Quota seats in India.
  • Private medical colleges counseling in India through directorate of medical education website of their respective state.
  • Deemed medical colleges through Medical counseling committee of India.

After the applications have been received the board will be letting out the merit list and the students in the list will be called for the counseling process. The students can select their respective colleges of their choice.

 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

Documents required during the MBBS  admission process are

  1. Photocopies of 10th and 12th certificate
  2. High school passing certificate.
  3. Birth certificate
  4. NEET 2020 score card
  5. Caste certificate
  6. Recent passport size photographs

MBBS DIRECT ADMISSION 2020

Every student aspiring to get MBBS degree may find it hard to get admitted in top institution due to the heavy competitions. For those aspirants, management quota seats are available in private medical colleges and deemed university.

After two rounds of counseling some of the seats may be available vacant without filling up or the student may not have reported to the college in due time. These seats are reverted back to colleges and these seats are filled in by having direct admission without counseling.

Hence aspirants who have cleared the NEET 2020, but failed to get an admission can go for these seats by paying donations. This direct admission process is carried out in all private institutions by following the rules and regulations. The student may be expected to pay a higher tuition fee and there are also institutions giving free direct seats to the candidates.
