Sony is finally coming up with its most awaited console on November 12th, 2020. After a total sale of 112 million units over the last seven years, Sony is looking forward to celebrating with the PS5, which is already in great demand even before its release.

A complete review of the new PlayStation 5 is still on hold, but certain things need to be mentioned. It seems like the PS5 will be a massive revolution as Sony has made some significant changes to the DualSense controller. Not only this, but a PS5 Digital Edition will be introduced that people might want to check out.

Talking about the design and performance of the PS5, it is nothing like a giant rectangle, same as the PlayStation lineup. The console features a unique design consisting of a black portion in the middle and white portions on its sides. If you look on the inside of the white faceplates, it has symbols, such as square, triangle, circle, and X, placed in a pattern.

You’ll see two USB Type-A ports, an HDMI port, a power supply, and a LAN connection at the back of the console. While the front also has USB-A and USB-C ports. The console box also comes with a 2.1 HDMI cable to support up to 120Hz. However, it doesn’t consist of a dedicated SSD expansion slot, same as Xbox Series X. Therefore, you’ll have to use an additional SSD card internally. Notably, the new PS5 only has an 825 GB SSD. You’ll need an extra card.

The new console is fast in context to loading games. However, the PS5 doesn’t have the Quick Resume feature just as Xbox Series X. Many people assumed that the Switcher function of the Control Center might work as Quick Resume; rather, it ends your current game, closing the same. So, picking up a game right where you left seems impossible.

If you’re familiar with the working of PS4 Pro, you might not have liked its sound as it sounds like a jet engine. A lot of people raised questions if the PS5 will continue to follow the same. Fortunately, the PS5 fan is a quiet mechanism that even if you use the console for hours, you would not hear its fan picking up speed. It is evident for a console to get heated after a lot of use, but the fan does an excellent job keeping it cool.

Interestingly, along with the release of PS5, it’ll be a release day for some exclusives like Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Demon’s Souls, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, and more. Also, you’ll be able to play almost every game that you use to play on PS4. Some reviewers tried playing The Outer Worlds and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which worked astoundingly.

The DualSense controller is everything that Sony claimed it to be and is nearly perfect. It consists of Haptic feedback that adds granular changes to the vibration motors. Not only this, but it also comes with Adaptive triggers that add resistance to the same. Additionally, the two features can be customized or disabled in the settings menu of the console.

Though there isn’t accurate battery testing yet, its 1500 mAh outlasts the DualShock 4. Some reviewers mentioned that even after using the DualSense for fifteen hours straight, one battery bar was still appearing, indicating that the console can be used for a little while. Undoubtedly, the console holds a larger battery size.

Talking about the user interface of the PS5, it is very similar to the one used on PS4, that focus on giving you a seamless experience. It has various themes that get changed according to the game you’ve picked up to play. Isn’t that amazing?

Furthermore, one thing that needs to be highlighted is the Control Center, which can be viewed with the quick tap of the PS button on the controller. It enables you to quickly access some important features on PS5. For instance, sound, notifications, power, friends list, etc.

PS5 also comes with a game help feature that allows the PlayStation Plus members to go through guides on playing the same. One example is the Demon’s Souls game that will launch with up to 180 game help videos.

Sony is relying upon its exclusives to coast through this generation. According to the reviewers, it is one perfect console that won’t let you go back to your old PS4 Pro. It has some of the best upgrades that are likely to be loved by PlayStation fans.
