Schools have an important role in defining the shape of society. It would not be wrong to say that they build our future. Considering the significance of schools in running society, they are always looked up as responsible institutions. Thus, it becomes mandatory for schools to play their part well. A school that is stagnant in terms of its school curriculum, upgradation, and introducing different concepts is not doing justice with the community. Thus, they need to evolve. In this process, let’s look at the three ways that can help schools improve and give a better future to students.

Understand the personality of students

Every child is different. To use their full potential, it is important to understand their personality. Learning if the student has an ambivert, extrovert or introvert personality will help teachers in helping students become more confident about themselves. It can also have a significant impact n the learning experience of the child.

Encourage entrepreneurship

The future is all about innovation and working for yourself. Why not help students prepare themselves? Encouraging entrepreneurship will help students think out-of-the-box and come up with creative ideas. It is alright to fail and re-attempt. Teach them how to take initiative and learn from mistakes. Having workshops on entrepreneurship and guest sessions can make a huge difference in the overall personality of students.

Don’t ignore mental health

Be it the teachers, students or administrative staff - all might need mental and emotional support at some point in time. Especially, when we are dealing with a pandemic, schools should put in more efforts to ensure students and staff doesn’t feel overwhelmed, stressed out or anxious. Having pranayama, mental health counselling, and other similar sessions can make a lot of difference. Other than the pandemic, it is still important that schools do not overlook the importance of mental health. Counselling and mental health sessions at regular intervals should be a part of the curriculum.

Final Words

The coming time will be a lot more competitive than it is today. Preparing children for the future will ensure they are not behind in the race. Moreover, it is not about competition but more about making a child independent. When taking initiatives, schools should pay attention to students of every age group. They must have a customised primary school curriculum in India so that the development starts from an early age. It is important to understand that it is not just the curriculum that makes a difference. Every staff member has to participate equally to ensure all the three steps are implemented the right way.
