The E-car

In addition to photovoltaics, there are of course countless other developments that want to fight climate change. One of them is the hotly debated e-car.

In contrast to conventional motor vehicles, it is powered by electricity instead of fuel. The pollutant emissions from the extraction of oil are among the top environmental polluters worldwide.

International corporations and also politics are of course aware of this, but letting go of this cooperation is usually more difficult than expected. Not because of contractual barriers, but because these businesses are extremely profitable.

Unfortunately, today's thinking is still aimed at bringing profit instead of peace. Many climate protection activists are fighting against this. They want to change the thoughts and attitudes of the big corporations. Because only then will an improvement also be noticeable in the international economy.

Laws and regulations

Many countries and cities are already favouring the e-car in a variety of ways.

A common option starting from cities and countries is to encourage parking in urban areas. E-cars are often equipped with green number plates to make a clear distinction. If you have such a green number plate, you can park for free in many European cities.

In addition to this regulation, general parking in urban areas becomes more expensive. However, whether this regulation is sensible and effective is a matter of intense debate around the world. Most people are resigned to the fact that parking in the city center will become more expensive. The problem, however, is that so-called Park and Ride parking spaces are also becoming more expensive. Many commuters who have to travel from rural areas to the city use them to connect to public transport.

This project should actually be in the interest of the authorities, politicians and all those involved. This way, people from the rural area who work in the city have the opportunity to switch to public transport instead of using their own car to get to the center. For this reason, there is also great indignation that these publicly provided parking spaces will now be subject to charges.

Electricity issues

But let's get back to the topic of e-cars. In this area, too, there is a large group of critics. They think that an electrically powered car is far from being the solution. After all, electricity has to come from somewhere, of course.

Nuclear power is often used here. Although this does not emit any CO2 during production, it offers completely different, much worse problem areas. History proves what nuclear power is capable of.

Entire cities and countries can be wiped out within seconds. Although safety precautions and controls are becoming more and more precise and careful, no comprehensive solution for the safe use of nuclear power can be given.
