How to win friends and influence your professors

Education is all about interaction and learning. You can never be a good student if you are not able to interact with people. The aim of attending a formal institution is to learn and build your personality. People who love meeting others enjoy it while introverts prefer online learning. I remember struggling with learning online and trying to find someone to take my online exam for me because I didn’t know what to do.

I asked my friends and professors for tips to adjust to the new learning pattern. There are a few things that I realized as I worked through this issue. It is essential to be able to interact with people and express yourself. I started working on my communication skill and found ways that work for me.

You will be surprised to see how easy it is to influence your teachers and get along with your fellow students if you make a few tweaks in your ways of life.

WHY DO YOU NEED IT?

Humans are essentially social beings. We cannot survive alone, and we always need some level of support from others. It can get tough for students in college life or higher studies if they do not know how to make good bonds with others. It helps people learn better and grow as better individuals.

You can develop long term life skills if you start working on how you interact. Thus, we have highlighted a few ways that you can use to be everyone’s favorite. Let’s begin!

You need to get noticed:

The first tip from our side to win your friends and your teachers is to get noticed. Nobody is going to remember you if you sulk in the corner for the entire year. You need to make sure that others notice you in class. The easiest way of doing this is to interact with your classmates and your teacher. It does not have to be something too long or too often. Just make sure that you DO speak your mind in class if you feel like something is worth sharing.

It can be a fact on the topic that you are studying, a simple joke that could get a few chuckles. It all depends on the situation that you are in. however, you will see significant changes in people’s attitude once they start noticing you and your work.

Volunteering gets the job done:

You are going to need confidence for this one. There are several occasions in a class where you can volunteer. It can be to lead a project, do a small task, or answer a simple question in class. Make sure that you volunteer in your class as it will have a good impact on the teachers as well as the students. The teacher will perceive it optimistically, and students will begin to see your inner potential.

You will start getting along with professors and your fellows before you know it. Make sure that you stay determined and complete each task that you volunteer for. You can make new friends and interact with similar people that will boost your social circle.

The support staff needs support too:

You can always stand out in the crowd if you are humble. You can achieve a lot more in educational institutions and life if you are kind to others. Make sure that you treat the support staff and the maintenance team well. You will appear a mature and respectful individual if you start treating everyone good. This is a tip that should stick with you for the rest of your life and not just through your education.

You will be surprised how well people will treat you as they will have respect in their hearts for you as well. You can get recognized easily if you get along with the janitors or the IT staff. You can assist them with your suggestions if they are stuck somewhere.

It will help you ask for help if the time comes for it. People will help you willingly if you are a respectful and helpful person yourself. Make sure to stay away if the other person is getting annoyed by your indulgence.

Your head of the department should know you:

This tip should not come as a surprise at all. You need to make sure that the head of the department knows you well. You can do this by often greeting them, running an errand or two for them. It will go a long way if you think about it. Interacting with the head of the department will help you build better connections and get favors done if you ever need them.

These may seem tiring and pointless tasks but will always pay you well in the longer run. It is all about building a positive PR with everyone.

Try to interact with everyone:

You need to overcome your social anxiety and talk to people. You can do this over time during lunch breaks or interactive sessions. Make sure to talk to the PE team and the mathematics group because you never know where someone might come in handy.

Interacting with others will allow you to learn and grow as a person. You will gradually start to get along with everyone, and it will benefit you well in life. Avoid staying in your dorm or your room when people are eating. Sacrificing a peaceful meal for interaction will go a long way in your educational journey.

Learn to take breaks:

The most important tip to make long-lasting bonds with people is not to try too hard. The best way to do this is to be outside your classroom between two classes. You will be surprised to see how vital it is.

It is also good for your mental health, as you will find time to relax. You often come across colleagues, teachers, and fellow students passing by. You can greet them and have small talking sessions if they are interesting. You can build stronger bonds with people if you do this enough times.

You can share your ideas and educational resources with others if they need help. People will start interacting with you more often if you have what they need. Sharing content can often unlock new doors and resources for you. People generally send back material as a thank you that will allow you to learn more.

Avoid being a bad boy:

A general mistake that most students make is trying too hard to stand out. They tend to be ignorant and ill-mannered with friends and teachers. Don’t do that. Nobody likes a stuck up person regardless of how attractive you think it looks. Make sure that you maintain a balanced sound attitude towards everyone.

You will go much well in school and college if you abide by the rules. Being a good student often gives you a lot of leverages from teachers and fellow students. You actually make things harder for everyone else too if you do not follow the rules, so avoid it as much as you can. I have had people Take My Online Exam for me only because I maintained a good attitude with them. These tips have helped me through my education, and I hope they do the same for you.
