The word spices itself says, “Adding spice to your diet”. We all are aware that there is no Indian kitchen without a box of spices in it. It plays a vital role not just to enhance the taste of food but also to give immunity to our body.

If there is one thing that turns your dishes super tasty, it’s got to be Spice Powder.  Not only do they add appetizing flavors, but also attractive colors and aromas for the food we consume. As mentioned earlier, the most interesting fact is that they are loaded with health benefits.

Let’s now check out the list of a few  must-have South Indian masala powders of every kitchen:

1.     Turmeric Powder:

Almost every dish like daal, Sabji or Omelette you prepare needs a pinch of turmeric in it. Turmeric is known for its antiseptic property.

2.     Chilli Powder:

Red Chilli Powder is a must-have ingredient in non-veg preparation. Since South Indians love spicy food, most of the dishes have a generous dose of chilli powder.

3.     Coriander Powder:

Coriander Powder lends a very nice flavor to vegetarian preparation. It enhances the flavor of your dishes. Make sure you include this in your spice box.

4.     Cumin Powder:

Cumin Powder is added almost in all the dishes and is known to help digestion.

5.     Garam Masala:

Garam Masala is made of whole spices and adds a spicy kick to any of your dishes. Both South Indians and North Indians use this masala in their daily cooking.
