Everyone can sleep better or worse. This is seemingly trivial. It would seem to be one of the few skills that each of us has mastered to perfection. All you have to do is close your eyes to find yourself in Morpheus' blissful embrace. But nothing could be further from the truth! Studies show that a large part of society cannot sleep properly.

Sleep is a fundamental process for the proper functioning of our body. During sleep, our body does not slow down at all. The brain tries to process the information obtained during the day, which manifests itself to us in the form of dreams, the heart pumps a standard amount of blood and the lungs work equally intensively. It is during sleep that the growth hormone is activated, the nervous system is regenerated and, most importantly, the immune system is activated, thanks to which we avoid various infections or viruses. There is no doubt that we need sleep. However, the question must be asked as to what can be done to make sleep as efficient as possible How can we make optimal use of our sleep time? A few simple tips can make a big difference to our lives.

The lethargy produces smaller amounts of gastric acid, which slows down the digestion process. That is why you have to be very careful what you eat before going to bed. Fat and high-calorie dishes served for dinner are not the best idea. The stomach may not cope with them. Lighter meals are preferred, such as dairy products, which do not strain the digestive system. It is important that you eat your meal no later than two hours before bedtime.

The view that a glass of warm milk or cocoa should be consumed before bedtime is controversial. On the one hand, this may have a positive effect on the decomposition of fats, while on the other hand it may cause a feeling of hunger, which will make it difficult for us to sleep peacefully.

Systematic gymnastics will improve sleep. A few dozen minutes of exercise during the day, especially before bedtime, should solve the problem of insomnia. Simple exercises are recommended. You should sit comfortably in a kneeling seat and place your feet on the sides of your trunk. The next step is to close your eyes to relax properly. Breathe in air with your nose and make a long exhalation, trying to press the tip of your tongue against your upper teeth. This type of exercise should be repeated 10 times. Another activity may be to bow. Extend your hands as far forward as possible to stretch your spine, hold this position for a while and return to the starting position. A properly selected music can help you to relax and soothe your nerves.

The position in which we spend the night turns out to be crucial for proper sleep. The correct body position will be possible only on a properly selected mattress. Popular sofas, sofa beds and sofas will not provide us with perfect sleep. They are designed to sit on them, which makes them too hard, because in such a position the whole body weight is concentrated on a small area. It is completely different in the case of mattresses, these are designed to properly support our body in a lying position.

We often come across the opinion that a mattress should be as hard as possible. This is an overrated view, dating back to the times when mattresses contained bonnel-type springs that have been withdrawn from use today. Only a few years ago, it was the hard mattresses that were considered to be the most beneficial. Today, the situation is completely different, because completely different materials and technologies are already being used to produce mattresses. Everything depends on our posture, body weight and height. A mattress should be selected individually, only this practice will allow our spine to rest while we sleep. It is also necessary to ensure proper ventilation of the bedroom. Temperature and humidity are important factors that should certainly be taken into account.

As you can see, sleeping is not such an easy thing to do. You should properly prepare for it and equip yourself with appropriate equipment. Luckily, the training will work out for the master. With the right habits each of us can become a champion of sleeping.
