The skin is a showcase of our health

Although it is said that the eyes are the mirror of the soul, in reality much more can be read from our skin. The appearance of our skin is determined by a number of factors, such as our lifestyle, diet and possible illnesses, which are manifested on our skin. It is therefore worth taking care of it so that it becomes our calling card.

There is no denying that our skin requires regular care. What is important, however, is that assimilating a few basic principles of care can make it look beautiful and healthy.

First of all, daily cleansing is important. For this purpose, you should use preparations with neutral pH, containing lipid substances and moisturising agents.

Cleaning should, of course, be accompanied by drying. Here, special care should be taken not to rub the skin with a towel, but only to gently apply it to the skin to prevent excessive drying and irritation.

After thorough cleansing and drying of the skin, do not forget to apply a special cream that meets the needs of our skin in appropriate microelements.

Sleep, vitamin C and frost protection

Many other seemingly unimportant everyday activities also affect the skin.

Not everyone is aware that the key to its young appearance is sleep, during which the regeneration process takes place. For this reason, it is worthwhile to use various nourishing preparations for the night, which will additionally support the renewal of our skin.

It is also a good habit to start every day with a glass of water and lemon. In this way we will provide our body with vitamin C, which has an antioxidant and anti-aging effect, and additionally moisturise the skin from the inside.

In addition, especially in winter, we should pay special attention to protection against frost and wind or large temperature differences.

Diseases visible on the skin

However, it is not only our lifestyle that affects the condition of our skin. Unfortunately, it may be affected by diseases that we are often not even aware of.

Among the worrying signs that need to be pointed out are all kinds of redness, dehydration, irritation, colour changes, growths and pimples.

In the case of such ailments, we should use the services of a specialist cosmetologist who will select the appropriate treatment method. It is not always easy to find the cause of the problem. For example, clearly visible wrinkles on the skin may inform us about both dehydration of the body and a possible deficiency of Omega-3 acids.

On the other hand, changes occurring within the nail plate are a frequent sign of fungal infection or psoriasis.

You should contact a specialist in case of problems which we are not able to deal with through daily care. These include excessive dryness, acne or severe seborrhoea.
