Tips and tricks to win at poker

Poker is an easy game to learn, but more difficult to control and master. A good player must have various characteristics and skills to reach the top and become a winner. And like everything in life, we can learn those skills, put them into practice and become a great poker player.

To win at poker online we must be cautious players, but also aggressive at certain times to impose ourselves on our opponents. It must be difficult to be predictable and know how to take advantage of the mistakes of the other players. Qualities all of which are learned with practice and time.

We want you to become the king of poker online, even if you have never sat at a gaming table yet. To help you, we bring you some poker tricks that will make it easier for you to win more and more hands.

Playing passively with a good hand is a commonly wrong strategy. Our hand is almost always vulnerable, which means that, although it may be a favorite at a certain moment, there is a danger that a later card will lead to an opponent surpassing us.

If you have a good hand, bet!: If you almost have a flush or a straight attached, you cannot check.

Poker is a game of perseverance and the golden rule of poker is self-control. Winning on many occasions will be of little use to you if you get excited and start raising the stakes uncontrollably, or are not able to overcome a losing streak. For this reason, lower the level when you suffer a bad streak, it will allow you to seek balance, calm down, and regain confidence. Don't even think about leveling up to get back what you lost!

Playing more does not always mean winning more: You don't have to play every hand. Some novice players believe that they must play all their hands. This is not so, take your time and study your cards with great care. If you think the odds of winning are not in your favor, feel free to fold.

Don't think about the winnings, if your only objective is to play each hand well, the results will come alone.

Pay attention to the position of the table where you are. In poker, the way you play your hand must be determined by where you are at the table in relation to the dealer. Count the number of seats between your seat and that of the dealer, starting from your seat and counting to the right (like clockwise). If the number is higher, you are sitting in what is called "Late Position", this means that you will have a chance to see the moves of your opponents before making yours. If there are fewer seats, you are in the so-called 'Early Position' which means that you will be forced to act before most of your opponents. Depending on your playing style and your cards in a certain hand, both positions can be advantageous. Normally the closer to the last position you are, the more information you will have about your opponents' movement before deciding your next action.

Deciding your move after the others allow you to:

  • Make decisions before committing money to the pot
  • Know who you are going to face in the successive rounds of betting
  • Know how many rivals you are going to face in successive betting rounds
  • Create big pots or keep the bet cheap as it suits you
  • Know how much each betting round costs
  • Bluffing with a higher probability of success
  • Steal from blinds if no one has entered the hand

In a 52-card deck, there are a total of 1,326 2-card Hold'em starting hand variations. Within these 2-card combinations, 78 are even. Consider these probabilities when you are analyzing whether or not you can complete a hand. Take into account these combinations related to the position in which you are at the table and the actions of your opponents.

Think before you bet and don't lose sight of your opponents. Do you think they have already completed the hand? Or do you force them to make a decision? What hands can you beat? and what hands will make you lose? Consider these questions before making your next decision in a hand of poker.
