A Few Positives Of The Pandemic

We are finally leaving 2020 behind. The year was filled with ups and downs, but mostly downs. There were more downs in the past 12 months than we could had predicted. The pandemic brought with it a lot of misery, and pain. Many people lost their lives, or their loved ones. Nobody knew what to do, or what we could have done. The global phenomenon had everyone puzzled.

Many countries went into strict lockdowns, and carried out quarantining of people. Some countries managed to successfully beat (or at least limit) the spread of the virus. Many countries made it past the first wave with less damage. But then we had the second wave, and experts have even warned that there may be a third wave incoming if safety precautions aren’t taken seriously.

There’s just so much that went wrong this year, that it feels like that there can’t be any good in it. That’s partly true. But we can see that among the heaps of wrongs, there were still a few things that went right. We now have the different companies conducting vaccine trials in different countries. With this comes the hope of an end to this difficult time, and the beginning of a comparatively care free life for all.

As we’re about to start our journey for the year 2021, let’s look back at a few things that came out positive during 2020:

Small Businesses Went Online

Let’s first talk about the businesses. We’ve all seen the hustle and struggle of small businesses. Their whole existence depended on people physically visiting their shops or stores.
Before the pandemic these people were missing out on a whole bunch of potential consumers. Many people even at that time, preferred to shop online.

The small businesses weren’t even targeting these people. But the pandemic literally forced them, to create an online presence. They may not have yet realized it, but this one move worked in their favor. They can now market their business and earn more, that they did ever before.

Educators Became Tech Savvy

Teachers are an essential part of our society. But for decades now, the teaching methods have not been changed. Most schools around the world follow the same patterns they’d been taught around a hundred years ago. Structures got developed and enhanced, but our methods remained the same. Even after we had so much technology at our hand, we saw less progress in its use towards education.

But during these days, all schools had to adapt the new methods of online-learning. There’s no denying that this wasn’t easy. It was a sudden shift, so many people had trouble adjusting to these new methods. Many teachers got ridiculed by their students, in the process. Why? Because they knew their technology better. But as time progressed, teachers too have learned the ways of online teaching. They too are now better aware of what to do and how, with their digital devices.

Climate Change

Within the first few months, we observed a change in the environmental pollution. There was a dramatic decrease of CO2and other harmful Emissions. Sure this wasn’t something that would stay, but it was a good thing that happened. We need to do whatever we can, to work against global warming and climate change. This played a small part in our mission to combat them, but this showed us that even a little can go a long way. If each one of us starts contributing even just a little, it will have an impact in the long run.

In Conclusion

The pandemic hasn’t yet ended. But we can expect good things, from 2021. Things are slowly moving towards normalization. As mentioned before, vaccines trails are being conducted worldwide. The virus too is mutating, as all viruses do. But we’re on the road to neutralize it, and we surely will pretty soon as well. While we’re still in this situation however, we at Webdesol would like to emphasize the importance of safety precautions.

While we find a cure, we also have the responsibility to limit the virus’ spread. This can only be done by following the guidelines and SOPs presented by WHO, and Health Authorities globally. If we do this, we’ll be of big help to the medical professionals working tirelessly to find a cure.

So let’s Stay safe, Stay Positive, and Go Big Into The Year 2021!
