Flare Audio Calmer Earbuds & Isolate 2 Ear Protectors - Reduce Distortion & Stress

Nowadays, our world is so busy that, for most of the time, we find ourselves flinching at every other loud / high-frequency sound that we hear around us. Whether that's the sound of car horns honking frantically on a busy traffic day, the loud noises of people's voices at a busy coffee shop or restaurant trying to talk louder than others just to be heard over each other, or even the sound of the subway's wheels breaking with a high-pitch metallic sound, it's safe to say that noise is, without a doubt, a real source of stress. Not only can loud noises trigger several reactions in the body - including the secretion of certain hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol - but those same reactions can even account for the development of heart and cardiovascular diseases after many years of exposure to stressful noises. Nevertheless, there's one audio solutions company out there that's aiming to tackle this problem, and that's none other than Flare Audio, who has recently come up with its Flare Audio Calmer In-Ear Earbuds and its Flare Audio Isolate 2 In-Ear Protectors.

The Flare Audio Calmer Earbuds are unique small in-ear devices that are designed to reduce the amount of higher-frequencies that reach your inner ear, thus helping to reduce stress while simultaneously increasing the overall sound quality of surrounding noises by simply reducing any unpleasant high-frequencies

Then we also have the Isolate 2 Ear Protectors, which are a pair of revolutionary certified micro ear protectors that use solid aluminum to block noise like never before. Basically, this pair of ear protectors is designed to protect its users from really loud sound environments, like a concert for example, and ultimately, to protect them from any loud noises that can cause hearing damage and potential hearing loss.

Flare Audio Isolate 2 In-Ear Protectors

Now, join us on our detailed review for both of these audio solutions, which, depending on what you're looking for, will help you decide on whether to pick up the Flare Audio Calmer Earbuds for a more overall sound reduction of annoyingly high-frequency sounds within your daily routine (like car horns and city traffic, the metro/subway breaking as it reaches the subway station stop, etc.) or to pick up the Isolate 2 Ear Protectors, which can keep your inner ears protected from loud noises so that you can avoid hearing damage as well as protect you from permanent hearing loss.

The Flare Audio Calmer Earbuds

DESIGN & SPECS

Starting with the Flare Audio Calmer Earbuds' size, these small in-ear earbuds come available in two-different sizes, which are a standard-size and a mini-size. The standard Calmer Earbuds measure 0.46 inches long by 0.49 inches wide (11.7 x 12.6 mm), while the Calmer Earbuds Mini measure 0.46 inches long by 0.42 inches wide (9.1 x 10.8 mm).

Regardless of what size model you decide to go with, the Flare Audio Calmer Earbuds are really well constructed, as these in-ear earbuds are solely made of soft-touch durable silicone, which not only makes them very comfortable to wear, but also making them very easy to fit within your ear as well as very discrete when worn.

I'd also like to add that these specialized high-frequency reduction earbuds do not contain any latex whatsoever in their construction, so if you're allergic to the substance, there's that, which is definitely a plus.

Now, moving on to the earbuds' design. The earplugs themselves are incredibly small, coming in a very compact shape that allows them to be discretely worn at any time.

Right at the front of each earbud, you'll notice the company's Flare Logo carved into the silicone itself, which is perfectly centered on each earplug's body.

Additionally, each of these earbuds also integrates a short silicone tab right at the top of earbuds' body, which basically helps users to have an easier time removing the earbuds from their ears at any point that they're done wearing them.

Lastly, I'd also like to mention that the Flare Audio Calmer Earbuds also come together with their own little Carrying Mesh Bag.

This little mesh bag is just slightly bigger than both earbuds combined, but still reasonably compact to be carried around, as well as pretty neat and handy to carry the earbuds with you at all times and perfect to give you a decent place to store them whenever you're not using them.

HOW TO WEAR THE CALMER EARBUDS?

Starting with the main purpose of the Flare Audio Calmer Earbuds, these earbuds are designed to reduce any potential high-frequencies from occurring sounds around us in order to ultimately reduce the way that our ears' concha - meaning a "shell-shaped" structure within the cavity of our external ear (outer ear) - shapes any incoming sound.

With that said, I'd like to note that, while wearing the Calmer Earbuds, one of the first things I noticed is that the highs became much less edgy.

The way that our ears shape any incoming sounds from our surroundings is actually quite important, and as such, it should also be explained on this review. So, studies have shown that the resonances captured and introduced to us by our ears ultimately helps us to understand speech from other people, and overall, also help us to determine where sounds are coming from, which can ultimately alerts us to any moving objects that may cause us harm (meaning things like moving cars, etc.).

Now, to put it simply, the main purpose of the Flare Audio Calmer Earbuds is to reduce any high-frequencies within our surrounding sounds to ultimately help us to reduce the stress caused by those same sounds.

So, basically, the Flare Audio Calmer Earbuds are designed to help us avoid both our body's physical reactions to sound - i.e. flinching out of surprise and fear - as well as its chemical reactions to sound - i.e. the already-mentioned secretion of certain hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol - which can cause stress and potentially more serious health risks (like the development of heart and cardiovascular diseases).

By having these specialized tiny silicone earbuds worn right at your concha, the Calmer Earbuds ultimately provide your ears with a better way of directing any incoming sounds through your ear canal a lot better, while simultaneously filtering and reducing any high-frequencies within those incoming sounds from your surrounding environment.

For those interested, the company's claims for the main purpose of their Flare Audio Calmer Earbuds (to reduce any incoming high-frequencies from loud sounds surrounding the user) were also verified and backed by an independent consultancy report by the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR Consulting).

I'd also like to note that after testing the Calmer Earbuds, I noticed that these specialized earbuds for high-frequency reduction can offer users an overall sound reduction of 3dB to 4dB, which is just a slight sound decrease (for those curious), and that should be around the same thing of decreasing your Smartphone's volume settings for just 1 level down.

Lastly, I'll also include a company video with the fitting instructions for the Flare Audio Calmer Earbuds, which you can find embedded below:

WHAT'S IN THE BOX?

I'd also like to note that the company is also mindful of the environment, meaning that they are aware of how bad littering and pollution overall can be. With that said, I'm extremely pleased to say that the packaging is quite tidy, yet, extremely simple.

Both the Calmer Earbuds and their proprietary Carrying Mesh Bag come packed inside a small recyclable cardboard envelope, and the package also includes a handy booklet with instructions and tips on how to wear / use these earbuds.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The Flare Audio Calmer Earbuds are unique small in-ear devices that can help reduce any higher-frequencies that reach your inner ear, thus helping to reduce stress while simultaneously increasing the overall sound quality of surrounding noises by simply reducing any unpleasant high-frequencies.

Overall, these earbuds offer a reasonable high-frequency reduction and are very discrete when worn, making them great to wear on loud city-life mornings within your daily commute, or even within any work environment that justifies their use (like busy restaurants, a very busy factory, etc.).

If you're interested in buying them, each pair is currently going for $28. You can order yours right now, directly from Flare Audio's official shopping page, which you can access by clicking here.

The Isolate 2 Ear Protectors

DESIGN & SPECS

Now, we'll also have a look at the Flare Audio Isolate 2 In-Ear Protectors. Starting with these micro ear protectors' size, each Isolate 2 micro ear protector measures exactly 0.72 inches long (from one end to the other) and around 0.47 inches wide at their widest point (18.4 x 12 mm). The Isolate 2 In-Ear Protectors are also extremely lightweight, weighing just a measly 0.05 oz. (1.43 g).

[caption id="attachment_46314" align="aligncenter" width="640"]Flare Audio Isolate 2 In-Ear Protectors Flare Audio Isolate 2 In-Ear Protectors[/caption]

Since these are in fact micro ear protectors, they come at a really, really small size. Just look at how small these ear protectors actually are.

[caption id="attachment_46315" align="aligncenter" width="600"]Flare Audio Isolate 2 In-Ear Protectors Flare Audio Isolate 2 In-Ear Protectors[/caption]

Now, as mentioned earlier, these are a pair of revolutionary certified  that use solid aluminum to block any sources of incoming noise. As such, the Isolate 2 In-Ear Protectors are mainly built of solid aluminum, but each of these micro ear protectors also integrates a soft memory foam ear-tip at the corresponding end that's going into your ear to ultimately offer you both a secure and comfortable fit. Since the Isolate 2 ship together with four differently sized pairs of memory foam ear-tips, you can easily choose which one fits you the best to achieve a more comfortable fit.

Additionally, the company's (Flare Audio's) logo also comes carved into the opposite end (meaning the aluminum end) that will be sticking out of your ear, so you can wear them in complete style.

Just like the Calmer Earbuds, the Isolate 2 In-Ear Protectors also come together with a little Carrying Mesh Bag for storing them and carrying them with you whenever you're not wearing them.

HOW DO THEY WORK?

As mentioned earlier, the Flare Audio Isolate 2 Ear Protectors are a pair of certified micro ear protectors that use solid aluminum to block any incoming noise, as these ear protectors are designed to protect users from really loud sound environments, like a concert for example, and ultimately, to protect them from any loud noises that can cause hearing damage and potential hearing loss.

So, the design of these ear protectors is slightly more simple than the Calmer Earbuds' design, as the Isolate 2 don't have a unique and specialized central sound canal to filter any passing sound and its respective high-frequencies.

To describe the Isolate 2 in a more simple way, this pair of certified micro ear protectors is designed to protect its users from really loud sound environments by offering users a really nice noise cancelling solution. Overall, the Isolate 2 In-Ear Protectors are quite easy to insert and very comfortable to wear, especially when you're present in any loud environments, as most sound is perfectly blocked out.

That ultimately makes this pair of micro ear protectors perfect for going to festivals, concerts, and any other loud events, while ensuring that you can avoid any hearing problems (or even partial - or permanent - hearing loss). Not only that, but these micro ear protectors are also great for your daily commuting, for traveling, for motorcycling on a daily basis and even for motorsports. Additionally, for parents of newborn babies, they can also come in handy whenever your baby (or babies) is (are) screaming and crying really close to your ear.

So, ultimately, the Isolate 2 are designed to protect your ears against any potential hearing damage (including permanent hearing loss).

WHAT'S IN THE BOX?

Once again, just like the company's Calmer Earbuds, Flare Audio stayed truthful to its environment-protection mindset, as they are aware of how bad littering and pollution overall can be. So once again, I'm very pleased to note that the packaging for the Isolate 2 is just as tidy as the Calmer Earbuds' one, and once more, very, very simple.

[caption id="attachment_46320" align="aligncenter" width="600"]Box Contents Box Contents[/caption]

Both the Isolate 2 In-Ear Protectors and their proprietary Carrying Mesh Bag come packed inside a small recyclable cardboard envelope, and the package also includes four (x4) pairs of memory foam ear-tips (all in different sizes), as well a handy booklet with instructions and tips on how to wear / use these earbuds.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The Isolate 2 Ear Protectors are a pair of revolutionary certified micro ear protectors that use solid aluminum to greatly block any loud noises from your surroundings.

[caption id="attachment_46321" align="aligncenter" width="600"]Flare Audio Isolate 2 In-Ear Protectors Flare Audio Isolate 2 In-Ear Protectors[/caption]
