One Plus Nord N10 5G: A Detailed Review

When researching for budget 5G phones you might realize that there aren’t too many great options. Even though one might find something that seems impressive enough to buy, one quickly realizes that it is too expensive. The smartphone market has very limited options for budget 5G phones and most of them come with a lot of comprises. However, among all the budget 5G phones, OnePlus Nord N10 5G stands out. It costs $299.99 only and the user does not need to compromise on the features that matter. The phone is $200 cheaper than Samsung Galaxy A51 5G and Google Pixel 4A 5G.

As of now, most people might not necessarily be buying phones solely based on 5G support since 5G is not going to be mainstream anytime soon. Even if we overlook the 5G support, OnePlus Nord N10 5G still has a lot to offer. The high refresh rate, big screen, and tall aspect ratio are all some of the features that make it one of the best budget phones in the market. However, the OnePlus did make a few sacrifices to make the phone affordable for all. The phone does not have an OLED screen and the processor is also not as good as other flagship or mid-range phones. Features that have recently become more common like telephoto cameras and wireless charging are also absent.

The back panel of the device is made up of plastic. Although it does not give the flagship feel one might expect but it doesn’t look cheap either. The plastic finish also gives a better grip compared to glass. The fingerprint sensor on the back panel is reliable and quick. Overall, OnePlus Nord N10 5G is quite comfortable to use and hold.

OnePlus Nord N10 5G comes with a 6.49-inch LCD screen with a tall 20:9 aspect ratio. The screen also has a high refresh rate of 90Hz. It makes the overall experience of scrolling through different apps a lot nicer. The only thing which might be a little off-putting is the LCD screen. Most phones these days have OLED screens, so a lot of consumers might not prefer to make the compromise with the display.

Nord N10 comes with Snapdragon 690 5G processor, which is not as fast as the processors in other midrange phones. The budget chip supports 5G which is a plus but buying a phone only on that basis does not make sense as of now. The device ships with Android 10 which is one version behind the latest update. OnePlus has officially said that it will soon give the N10 an update to Android 11. However, there is one disappointing news, apart from the major Android update, there is nothing else to look forward to. The users will have to settle for more than two years of security updates. Although it’s quite common considering the price range it’s an important factor worth remembering.

The phone has 128GB storage and 6GB RAM along with a MicroSDXC slot for more space. All the other devices at this price range are not comparable to N10 5G. The 4300mAh battery is more than enough for most users as it lasts around a day and a half of moderate use. The phone comes with a 30W fast charger which charges the phone from 7% to 50% in 20minutes.

OnePlus Nord N10 5G is a great device in the under $300 price range. Although it lacks a few features that most modern midrange phones have but the phone still is quite good.
