Red Dead Online Is Going Standalone

Rockstar is officially decoupling Red Dead Online from Red Dead Redemption 2. This means you’ll be able to purchase the online multiplayer mode as a standalone product on both PC and consoles–it is not going free-to-play. This new standalone version of Red Dead Online starts on December 1 and will cost $20. However, for its first month or two of availability–from launching until February 15, 2021–it’ll be 75 percent off, selling for only $5. As an Internet game, it takes a subscription to PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold if you are playing PS4/PS5 or Xbox One/Series X|S, respectively.
