Ramdev suggests including dairy, milk, butter and ghee in the foods as they are able to pacify pitta. Yogurt, sour cream and cultured buttermilk should be reduced as they may aggravate pitta dosha. Olive, sunflower and coconut oils are best. Reduce sesame, almond and corn oil, all of which increase Pitta. Fruits including grapes, cherries, melons, avocados, coconuts, pomegranates, mangos, and sweet, fully-ripened oranges, pineapples and plums give good results, says Ramdev. He advises minimizing sour fruits such as grapefruits, olives, papayas, and unripe pineapples and plums.

The great yoga guru recommends asparagus, cucumbers, potatoes, sweet potatoes, green leafy vegetables, pumpkins, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, okra, lettuce, green beans and zucchini for the guys that suffer from pitta dosha. Reduce hot peppers, tomatoes, carrots, beets, onions, garlic, radishes and spinach, says the yoga guru.

Spices including cinnamon, coriander, cardamom and fennel are good but intake of ginger, cumin, black pepper, fenugreek, clove, celery seed, salt and mustard seed should be reduced. Chili peppers and cayenne should just be avoided, suggests Ramdev. He recommends going for long walks, exercising, yoga asana and intake of sufficient water after frequent intervals.
