The current hullabaloo about councilor Huechuraba highlights the problematic situation which exists in Lagos, Nigeria where public services are becoming more and more corrupt and parasitic alcalde huechuraba. The irony is the former PDP (Peoples Power) officials and businessmen that once controlled the transport, water and electricity industries have now lost most of the political clout due to the coming of a different, disillusioned and disgusted public that have chosen this councilor. It's a reflection of the rust permeating throughout Lagos that there is presently a Councilor for Public Service (CPS) and no one seems to be able to work out how to fill it.
A cursory glance at the history of Councordor Huechuraba's term reveals the deficiencies that were aplenty. In 2021 he was forced to resign with the Supreme Court after some of the assistants were arrested on charges of graft and corruption. Since then the wheels of corruption had turned completely around and now the tables have been turned completely around; this Councilor is currently the most important target of corruption offenses. It's unfortunate that all those who have been responsible for his appointment would be now conveniently blaming the former Chair of the Council for appointing him.
What can we do to stop this corrosion of public service? First and foremost it's essential that as individuals and communities we must all contribute in whatever manner we can. Whether this means being a foot soldier or providing a helping hand, this can help shape our future. Secondly we must recognize that whatever position we hold in government we must be committed to serving the community and the welfare of those people. When we fail to uphold these values then we not only destroy any political party but also our community as a whole.
The way forward so is to begin a campaign that will enlist the aid of the entire community. I call this,"Serving the People" and think it will bring about a sea change. There will be many who will join and for us to become prosperous in this campaign it is important that we start with the people in the base. We must reach out into the roads. If we neglect to do this then we will not stop corruption in our community.
The success of this effort won't be limited to one ward. The word will spread and there'll be follow up actions. This will enable us to eventually clean house and eliminate those who are corrupt concejal huechuraba. A public service at the grass root level is what we need to ensure in this town and really in our nation.
The last Councilor Huejuraba is a person who has served his constituents with distinction. There's not any doubt that he has the ability to direct. It is with that ability and skill that we need to proceed as a company and as citizens. That is the vision we have to pursue and I'm confident that together with his resignation the job that needs to be performed will proceed without delay. Please think about that in 2021.
